worcester19 Posted October 18, 2014 Share Posted October 18, 2014 Hi all,I am restoring a GT6 mkII and have just found out that the engine that came with the car has an HC Preffix and is therefore a Vitesse engine.I have another engine in the garage with the number KC81111HE but I have been told this is quite a high number for a UK Mk II engine. It has obviosly had some work done in the past as the number has been ground down slightly.Does anybody know how I can track down any information on the engine before I start to strip and rebuild it.Many ThanksStephen Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
hypoid53 Posted October 18, 2014 Share Posted October 18, 2014 The last Mk2 engine was KC83397 in December 1970, so yours at 80000+ should be late 1970. Internally it should be identical to the HC Vitesse engine you have fitted, but after all these years you will not know for sure until you strip it down.
