Clive
Tim, best bet is a repair kit, less than a tenner from the usual suspects. http://www.canleyclassics.com/searchforapart.asp?ptno=516542I have a few duff pumps here too....
Tim Bancroft
Thanks, Clive.I think I have a repair kit within my chaotic hoard of parts, the trouble will be finding it!I really like the glass bowled jobbies. Am thinking it may be time to go for an electric pump in conjunction with a fuel regulator.
Clive
The facet red-tops etc are pretty noisy, they tick away and even though mine was in the boot of the spitfire, rubber mounted and I tried some sound insulation, it was still irritating at times :-/ I would stick with the std pump every time, plus its much easier to carry a spare repair kit than a spare pump ( i bought a spare red-top for the RBRR, and will remain in its box and be carried in the next car!)EDIT, do you have a glass-top pump already? if not I can supply one suitable for a repair kit
Tim Bancroft
Clive,Yes the one on the car is a glass bowl one, will go into the shed later and have a good look for the repair kit I have. Thanks for your advice.
Clive
The gods are smiling on you today!I am in the process of tidying the garage (and does it need it, spent an hour sorting the shed first). Found my selection of used pumps, and there next to them a brand new AC repair kit. 20mins later one refurbed pump, glad I had earlier found and put my seal puller back where it belongs, the valves are tricky little blighters. Anyway, good as new (and better than a repro no doubt) if you are in need? If urgent be quick or the post office will shut! or give me a bell.
