Rallyspit
Hi, I've recently cleaned and sealed my Mk3 spitfire tank (and a spare) with POR15, which has done an excellent job. However - having poured out the sealant the thread on the tank is unrecognisable, and needs a blind tap to restore. Does anyone know what the thread size is? RobPearce
No, but I have the relevant pipe, olive and nut sitting on a shelf in the garage so I'll try to remember to measure it tonight.
Jonny-Jimbo
From memory it's 7/16th, but I couldn't tell you what thread type, BSP maybe, but I can't be sure.
Hogie
Not BSP - that would be very big physically.Roger
RobPearce
The one I have on the shelf looks quite close to 1/4 BSP (which is a fraction over 1/2" OD). Given that it holds a 1/4 pipe with an olive, that's not unreasonable.
