Greeks
Hmmm ...thinking of splashing out on some 15 inch Revolutions for BOB but i'm unsure about what tyre size to go for.Am I right in thinking 205/60 or 195/65 should be correct for the diameter? In which case does anyone know if the 205/60 will fit ok?Cheers
DJB_Harvey
I run those on my Mk1 and have always used 195/60/15's with excellent results . I sure these are the correct rolling radius to the original sizes .
AlanChatterton
I used 205/65/15 but mine where 15x7.195/60/15 or even 65's would be ok.Mine is "over-tyred" but I was trying to bring the rolling radius up to gear the car down a bit. CRAJ
195/65 will give the closest rolling radius to the original 175/14 tyres (almost perfect!)Whether the 205 would fit would be down to the offset of the Revolution wheel as much as anything else.I use 195/70/14s on 6x14 MOMOs and have even had a 5mm spacer on the rear with a rizla paper gap to the arch.I think Dave's mk1 is still on narrow rear track and Alan's car has the blown rear arches!Colin. DJB_Harvey
I was comparing the rolling radius to the original 13" wheel combos EG 175/185x13 . My Mk1's running Mk2 trailing arms and yes there ain't much clearance to the arch ... But they've never touched !

I will send them to your email Dave.Colin.
Greeks
i probably should have said i have a 2500 S with stiffened C W springs set to standard height. But sounds like the 195 is the safest bet.

CRAJ
Dave can probably tell you what offset his Revs are, but looking at this site https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.htmlwill give you some ideas of offset compared to rim width and backspacing. As I remember, when I measured the backspace on the MOMOs it was the same as the original S alloys. Using the figure quoted on the Register website of 19mm offset for an S alloy and at 5.5" wide that gives a backspace oF 4". Therefore my MOMOs must have an offset of 12 (ET12) at 6" wide.Colin

cruza
I am running 195/60R15 on the Mk1 with Mk2 rear end. Had to roll the lip on the rear but perfect after that. Speedo is spot on. Don't know offset sadly.Steve
Nick Moore
An inspired choice of wheels, by the way. Five spoke Revolutions are quite simply gorgeous!

Tim Bancroft
Revs are very nice looking wheels. However, the lacquer they use is not all that good, the 15'' 5 spoke items I have on the saloon look awful now as corrosion has really hit them. Two options to me, either get them re-furbed or stripp them down and have them fully powder coated in satin black.Good luck, Graham. AlanChatterton
Tim,Get the outer bits polished, then have them clear stove enameled. I had this done to the S alloys on the yellow estate in 1996............ and they still look great today!Hoping the revvies on my estate hold up a bit better, but then yours is driven in anger all year round and the salt does play havoc with them! But, you're right....... revvies rock! Tim Bancroft
Graham,I had the Revs on my Gt6 re-furbed about 6 years ago. No lacquer,so just a good polish (Hope Chats ain't reading this) every so often and they look very smart. I'd have a good go at the S wheels with some autosol or similar, bet you'll be surprised. Greeks
they're way past that. tried the wire wheel on them once and it made no difference. they may have some kind of coating from a previous refreshment but they wouldn't polish at all. Paul64
I've used The Wheel Specialist a few times and always had excellent results. I use the Manchester branch but there's a few around the country: http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/Quick, good price and can do all the fancy finishes like black chrome if you want....Paul
