Apart from earlpart who else has sills in stock at a reasonable price? As apart from paying silly money to Earlpart not been able to get any and have at least 2 cars waiting for some, could do with 2 pairs of mk1 and a pair of mk2

Cheers Andy

Sorry Andy - your dead right.  Got so used to having CW with stock had not realised the situation, I am seeing him this evening and will have a chat about this and a few other things.

Just had a quick check round the usual suppliers:
Chris Witor - No stock
T.D. Fitchett - No stock
Mick Dolphin - No stock
Rimmer - ..................£155 .......... ??)
Earlpart - £60

So you either pay a massive £155 (!!!) from Rimmer or go to Earlpart who a number of us are unhappy with because of the wings situation which has required LLoyd to do something about and shows the need for an alternative supplier when his stock runs out.

Hopefully I have come up with that small stock from a panel supplier of the outer curved bit but apart from that nothing (apart for my own personal small surplus 'stock'), I'll send you an e-mail later.

We also have a few each of these (also Hadrian stuff);

Such a shame that Hadrian bailed out a few years ago, some of their stuff was excellent bearing in mind how cheap they were.

I couldn't believe it when we got first dibs on it all, and the lorry turned up the next day.

Thanks for that info.  Are these the full cover sill with curved side and the return on the bottom from floor to sill strengthener or just the curved side?

Sounds like I will be (humbly) updating Lloyd after telling him there was not a supply problem ........ :-/

think i might have to sell my sill before i cut it up....price`s have gone up,,,wow

Don't assume too much on the Rimmer price - how many will be prepared to pay this?

Although I have my reservations about Earlpart IF I needed a sill (which I don't) I would go to them at their price - or Dave at Canley until his stock runs out.

I know but I have never been able to get hold of them to ask about their stuff - do not reply to e-mails and only have voicemail and they do not respond to messages.

If someone has made contact ..... please tell me how!

Ted

Told you there is a problem with sills, Knew c witor was out as had his last few a while back,  You have to remember i have done at least 5 pairs in the last year, Have 2 mk1`s sitting here waiting for sills to be fitted which i have,
Also know of 2 mk2`s which need sills and would think the mk1 i was talking to you about will also need doing, know Earlpart list the full sills but at the price they are asking make the mk2`s not worth doing
Can see a phone call to canley`s monday morning

Cheers Andy

hey ted,

how bigger slice of humble pie would you like to cut you, a big slice im betting, hate to say i told you so, but, told you so told you so !!!!!  lol lol.

ive done all the market research required for every panel we need over the last ten years, i know whats needed and whats not, and roughly how much each tool will cost before even getting prices for said tooling, im on the case guys, but as you are all now aware, unfortunatly its all such a slow process, once the first lot of pressings are underway, it should speed things along abit.

ive had a price for sill tooling, and its massive, simply due to the length of it and the size of the press required to press em, but ive been on the case of tracking down the heritage tooling for a while now, watch this space !

I should point out that when you and Andy said there was a supply problems earlier this year I checked it out and CW's site showed he had stock as did Earlpart and Rimmer.  While Earlpart has upset a lot of us over the wings situation he does have a stock ......

There would appear to have been a lot of sill work done this year by people hence my rechecking last week when it was suggested again there was a problem.  Perhaps I should not bother.

Regularly! They have a lady who comes into the office a couple of days a week. She responds to e-mail, and answering machine messages.

If you made a straight forward request for a price, and availabilty on a particular panel I can't see why they wouldn't get back to you.

However they are very busy people supplying large orders to mostly (99%) trade customers. They keep nothing on the shelf (they don't have a shelf!) its all made to order in reasonable runs.

Its probably best to be brief, succinct, and to the point when enquiring with them, they are not at all set up up for the vagaries of the average retail punter 8)
