ferny
They're the correct shape. That's without knowing their length and number of splines. Here's an exploded driveshaft view if it's any use to you;http://blueyed.explorationing.com/?p=
Toledo Man
Manual and Triomatic driveshafts are different. The engine and running gear is the same as the Civic so I think the driveshafts should be the same.
Tim_343
thanks for your help guys thank fully it was due to play in the old anti roll bar bushes as i replaces the 2 bottom arms and the old bushes were loose in the mounting causing all sorts of noises which are commonly associated with drive shafts being knackard lol. Pawel Saladziak
Does anyone know a compatible driveshaft for my both triumphs? Triomatic and manual one.So far I found this one:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Q-Dr.....7:g:TQwAAOxyEoFSVZYO
Barry Acclaim Guru
I think the rover 216 had the VW gear box if I remember correctly. Rover engine had a clockwise rotation unlike the Acclaim
RobPearce
The 216 "cabriolet" would be the later, Honda Concerto based hatchback. That used a Honda engine and gearbox. The 214 used a Peugeot-derived gearbox. The earlier, boxy, Ballade-based 216 was a British engine but I don't know where the gearbox originated. Barry Acclaim Guru
Manual drive shafts do differ from triomatic ones, they are not interchangeable.
Pawel Saladziak
Thanks Barry, any ideas how to deal with the ones that stacked in the gearbox?
Barry Acclaim Guru
two large screwdrivers opposite each other and wiggle them back and forth alternatively until the circlip compresses and the drive shaft pops out.Hope this helps
Pawel Saladziak
Well, I am sure that this was already done, but as water got into the socket, it's rusted and stucked. WD40 does not help at all. Any other ideas?
Barry Acclaim Guru
Oooch! only pull the drive shaft out of the end of the gearbox coupling, and leave the coupling stuck in the box. you should be able to save the gaiter and use it again, but if not a drive shaft boot of the gineric type will fit. Pawel Saladziak
On the other hand, Haynes manual does not mention about difference between traumatic and manual gearbox model shaft versions.Does anyone now actual sizes of traumatic version driveshafts?
