Jonny-Jimbo Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Just entered the Autosolo, but as the entry form doesn't allow free form fill my entry is a bit skewed. It says I'll be taking my Mk1 2000 with a 3995cc engine... This is because I will actually be entering in my BMW 5 Series again. Having driven my 2000 for the last two weeks, it needs a lot of work that I don't think I'll have done in time for the Autosolo... And the 540i will go very sideways and make lots of smoke...If I'm not fast I'll just have to be spectacular!I'm looking forward to this event, hopefully we get enough entries to run it. Quote
richard w Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Hear hear. My entry isn't so complicated, I'll be in the 2000 if it survives the RBRR ok. Hopefully it'll be a little quicker than last time as it's now a manual. Quote
Jonny-Jimbo Posted August 14, 2018 Author Posted August 14, 2018 I think I have a few friends who are keep to take part too, so hopefully we will have enough people on board! Quote
Dale Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Ellis and I will be in Harold if I can wake him up after such a long sleep and Nigel will either be in his new Scooby or Harold too Quote
Mik Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 Yay! I finally managed to get back in to the new web site! And I entered the autosolo. My entry says I'll be bringing a green Spitfire. Except it'll be yellow. And not a Spitfire. Hopefully that's close enough but the "add a new car" button doesn't have a category for "other". Quote
Clive Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 Ah, same class (F) as our 1971 spitfire. Entries starting to trickle in, hopefully there will be enough. (that is a hint to people who intend to enter, but keep putting it off!!!) Quote
Mik Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 I actually entered in class E. No idea what's happened there :) I have quite a lot less than 150bhp 😎 Quote
Richard B Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 The option is to the left of the text not the right. I put the Stag into E by mistake rather than D. Easily corrected though 😎 Looks like my daughters are going to be having a mini-competition to see who can beat me by the most time! Quote
Clive Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 Just need 9 more entries to make it happen...... getting there! Quote
CharlieD Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 I am guessing I am being particularly thick.... How exactly do you enter? spent the last 10 minutes looking for an 'enter now' button on the various autosolo threads? Quote

GT6DavidMK1 Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Hi Charlie, find the picture of the TR7 and to the right of the picture there is a box for entry list, click on it and it will take you to the list, at the top of the list is a enter button ;) David. Quote
CharlieD Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 Hi David thanks for your reply, I found the page of all the entrants on a previous attempt! But no 'enter button' see below - Maybe the autosolo is only open to non-mac users! Or alternatively I am being decidedly thick... Quote
Mik Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 The button should be just underneath where it says "draft 6 submitted 13" at the top. It's a tiny button anyway but seems to be entirely absent in your screenshot. Maybe you need to bypass the high technology and contact Nigel directly to let him know you want to join in! Quote
Velocita Rosso Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 No `entry button` on my screen ....and I`ve had no problems with the new forum as yet Quote
Jonny-Jimbo Posted October 23, 2018 Author Posted October 23, 2018 I need to get an entry in for the other half in her MX5, but I can't as the button has also gone for me, possibly because I have already entered. On that note, I am not going to be taking the 540. It's been laid up for the best part of a year missing it's front end (Badgers hurt 5 series quite badly it turns out!)... so I am now entering in the less powerful and distinctly FWD Citroen AX GT... I'm not even sure it runs to be honest. Might be a few nights on the midnight oil! Quote
Clive Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Drop Nigel a line. He is a helpful chappie. And why not us eth MX5, fine cars for autosolos.... Quote
richard w Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Don't be a spoilsport Clive. Jon just wants to give his handbrake a good test! Quote
Mik Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Citroen AX is a fine car for most things :-) Quote
Clive Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Chaps, you misunderstand me. Nothing against light FWD stuff, they are indeed good for solos etc. But as time is short..... Besides, I really like MX5's! Quote
Mik Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 No misunderstanding, I was just attempting humour :) I'm not very good at it! Had an AX for 14 years, excellent car. The MX5 is also a good choice for many things! I suspect by the way that the entry button may have vanished because the entry closing date has passed so direct communication with the organiser (Nigel Abdullah) is the way to go if anyone still wants to come out and play. Quote
richard w Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Just teasing Clive. Jon did his best to convert the rear tyres on the BMW into smoke last time, now he obviously wants to have a go at putting a nice flat edge on the AX's! Oh and reducing the diameter of the fronts as well obviously Quote
Mik Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 Does anyone know where to find the indemnity form we're supposed to be printing off to take with us as per the final instructions? I've not seen it on the Autosolo page or anywhere else I've looked. Quote
richard w Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 I haven't seen one either Mik. Maybe Nigel will let us fill something out in the morning during scrutineering. Quote
