cammmy
Hi GuysHas anyone fitted modern retracting 3 point belts into their cars? I have some in the shed at home that I'd like to fit but I recall having a look and thinking an extra mounting point would be required? Thanks
nang
Got them in my '76 TC. Just bolted straight in . All mounting points present.Tony.
Toledo Man
What he said. The "retracting" type are inertial reel as opposed to static seat belts. The change from static to inertia reel belts occurred about 1973/1974 and later ones will bolt straight in.
CRAJ
The above is true but you will need ones with a long bracket for the bottom fittng of the belt to fit behind the inertia reel (and use the same mounting bolt) without fouling on that reel. A set from a late mk2 is best, but if buying aftermarket beware of this.Colin.
cammmy
Cool, thanks. I'll have a look when I'm back home. I'm not sure where the seatbelts are from. They came with a whole load of Trump parts so could be Trump or from something else.
