Ben Hutchings
Afternoon folks, Last year we had some good pics from this event to share on our Instagram and Twitter accounts. Please remember to take a few pics this time too. If you can send them via text, WhatsApp (07939 259244) or email (twitter@club.triumph.org.uk) that ensures the best quality. However if Direct Messaging in Twitter or Instagram is easier for you, go for it. Thanks a lot, it's really great for others to see Club cars and members in action :) We have over 900 followers on Twitter now and nearly 700 on Instagram. Just a little way to go to catch some of the other clubs ;)

McJim
It is with great regret that Katy and I have to withdraw from this year's Border Raiders. The crankshaft on the Spitfire is shot and away for repair but due to holidays at the machine shop and the garage putting it back together, the car won't be ready in time. Looks like whoever built the engine left swarf that has damaged No. 3 & 4 big end bearings and damaged the crank. I should have sorted this earlier but family committments came first. Still, there's always next year. Jim.

McJim
Cheers Michael. Amazed that anyone actually read my post on here. Much more of a response on Facebook - the main reason I don't visit this website now. Jim.
Velocita Rosso
Quoted from McJim Too- Cheers Michael. Amazed that anyone actually read my post on here. Much more of a response on Facebook - the main reason I don't visit this website now. Jim. ...and that why shops are closing Jim. Everyone now wants to be there tomorrow, have their goods delivered today in their hands or hand ,because they are thumbing their mobiles with the other. Its sad that no one wants to support a club site Its a wonder that there are no cars on events as time is spent more now on ogling the mobile ,watching catch up etc. I now get texts ,instead of posting, to remind me of club meets Yes maybe there are Facebook pages for the CT.....but who originated them? MH must like the forum a lot.....duplicating and triplicating his messages...but he posts! Shame you are not on the Raiders trip, you will miss a good event with some great scenery and friends. I know someone not a million miles away who has spare engines .....
McJim
The only reason Michael likes the Forum is that it is slow enough for him to post his replies using the Royal Mail.😏 I don't think that in 2019 it is too much to ask to be able to click on a new page on a website and for that page to appear within a second or so. Anyhow, even if someone had a spare engine, by the time it got up here, the garage would be closing for the holidays. Thanks for the offer anyway. The Spitfire has a good engine full of new parts, pity about the bottom end. I will really miss being on the Border Raiders and have been looking forward to it for months, as has Katy. It would have been great to meet up with you lot again and share a pint or two. There's no better crew that you Pendle and Pennine reprobates. I'll be thinking of you all while the Border Raiders is on and remembering our good friend Martin who we all miss. Rest assured, I'll have my entry in for the 2020 Border Raiders. This was to be my big outing in the Spitfire this year but now I'll have to wait till La Carrera Caledonian when Katy and I go up against the Caledonian Sleeper from Euston to Edinburgh next June. Jim.
