Greta
hi I've a broken wheel stud on my MKIII - does anyone have a hub puller they would be willing to lend me? I live near the start of Coast to Coast - and if I can find a co- driver will be doing it and going to Bicester Alao have friends going to annual dinner. glang
sorry cant help with a puller but make sure you only use the proper type that bolts up on the 4 studs (well maybe 3 in your case) as the leg type that grab on the edge of the hub have a high risk of deforming it! Batch
Hi Nuala I've got one you could borrow and could bring it with me to C2C, if you cannot get hold of one closer. ATB Dave
glang
wait a minute are you sure theres not enough room to knock the stud out and replace it without removing the hub? I though thats what I did on my Vitesse but it was a longgggggg time ago...
Velocita Rosso
You will not need the hub puller...knock old through and with hub at one o`clock with nimble fingers you insert the new stud and draw it it with old nut and washer...done it many time and 7 days ago was the last

sparky_spit
The only proviso to the above is if you have longer Freelander studs fitted. They won't wiggle in or out without the hub coming off, or a one inch hole drilled through the backplate (later filled with a grommet). Thanks - just wish all my jobs were so easy ... not sure why I didn't twigg to this sooner but many thanks ..I don't think it would have worked with longer studs - but fortunately I had a good short one from when I upgraded the GT6 - matches the others that are there. glang
ahhh but arent you disappointed you didnt get to have the fun of removing a hub? It probably would have been an experience you wouldnt forget!
