stagdad Posted October 4, 2013 Share Posted October 4, 2013 Would be a lot harder to try and do it in situ as the back mounting plate bolts to the rear diff cover ,can't see it being doable without removing the diff but i might be wrong.If you have a leak try making sure the breather is clear first by wiggaling the pin sticking out of it.Cheers steve Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
StagNL Posted October 4, 2013 Share Posted October 4, 2013 I think you'd at the very least need to lower the rear mounting in order to remove it from the diff. There is stuff all space between the rear mounting / cover and the boot panel. By coming down a fair way you'd have it on an angle that may make it possible.The pin mentioned above is sometimes hard to locate due to crud on the diff.Julian Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If usinga a MkII Saloon 3.45 diff, you need the rear aluminium casting off of a MkI (Saloon or Estate) or a MkII Estate.The MkII Saloon rear casting is different to the others.And the Stag casting is different again. ;D pps the rear steel plate is the same. 8) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
