BodsMk1
Hi all, I have an early GT6 MK1 I ve just been told that the rocker shaft and tappets are worn beyond repair, no probs i thought ill order a new one. Ah problem. Canleys have been very honest as usual and told me that he is not satisfied witht the quality of the shafts that are available at the moment and couldnt help me. Any body got any ideas where i might me able to source a decent quality rocker shaft and tappet set , its made more dificult by the fact that the rocker shaft assembly is specifically for the early Mk1 engines so as i understand it the later ones dont fit . Happy new year to you all. Cheers
thescrapman
I would guess the only option will be to watch for NOS to appear on Ebay (needs to be very old I suspect)Or get a new one and have it retreated to correct the hardness issue.Perhaps good second hand may be a short term solution.CheersColin

Pete Lewis
you can fit a mk2 set to a mk1 but have to use the original pedestals and shorten one end to avoid fouling the end of the rocker cover , and from memory tap the oilway to take a retaing setscrew/washer to retain the end rockers, but when between rock and disaster you sometimes do unusual remedies.Pete
