  1. Email that I received from CSMA  (I'm a member)  may be worth following up Chris? Dear Motorsport member, As a member of the Motorsports Group at a CSMA Club I thought you would like to know what Track Day events we have planned for 2013. Saturday March 16th – Bedford Autodrome (SEN Circuit) This is our third visit to the Bedford Autodrome and this year we shall be using their 2.3 mile SEN Circuit. This is our first Saturday event and will be for Road Cars ONLY. As CSMA Club we will have 20 reserved places in this Open Pit Lane event which will give you up to 7 hours of track time. We also have access to a CSMA Club parking area and the Hospitality suite. I will be on hand to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible on the day. It promises to be another cracking experience, whether you are a track day novice, or an old-hand so please send your completed entry form and payment to Aime (our CSMA club support representative) at the following address Aime Robertson, Club Support Executive Britannia House 21, Station Street Brighton BN1 4DE Tel 01273 744 633 Entry forms are also available to download from our website at http://www.csmaclub.co.uk/Bedford Track Day Thursday May 9th – Castle Combe. This will be our first visit to Castle Combe for 2013. Organised as usual by Allan Goddard it will run as a sessioned event and is open to both Cars and Bikes (in separate sessions of course!) regulations should be available shortly, so please check our website for updates. http://www.csmaclub.co.uk/castle combe Thursday September 12th – Castle Combe Another Sessioned event at this popular circuit. Friday November 15th – Brands Hatch (Indy Circuit) Another Open Pit Lane day with 20 spaces reserved for CSMA Club at this iconic circuit. I would also like to remind you that the Motorsports Group has its own pages within the CSMA Club website at http://www.csmaclub.co.uk/club-group/motorsports/ and here you will find a list of all the events we are involved in during 2013. If you haven’t already done so could you also register on the site and 'join the group' you can then let us know what other types of Motorsport events you are interested in so we can give you advanced notice of what is being planned. I look forward to seeing you at one (or maybe all) of our Track Days in 2013 Malcolm Grubb Secretary, CSMA Club Motorsports Group malcolm.grubb@csmaclub.org    mobile 07796 996670
  2. if the gearbox input shaft has not been upgraded, source a spare shaft and gear NOW!    :)
  3. I've always worried about tank sealing since I read somewhere that nasty european petrol (or rather the ethanol in it) can cause problems by dissolving it   :-/
  4. buy yourself(or borrow) a pair of wheel dollies such as http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Wheel-Dollies-450kg-Per-Dolly-/170978431673?pt=UK_Lifting_Moving_Equipment&hash=item27cf1bd2b9 then all you have to do is jack up the front of the car , slip the dollies in and push it out.  (or over to the other side of the garage) You can then play with the steering lock to heart's content!
  5. Uh I remember that one - arrived at one end in the Stag suffering from an ailing fuel pump, Sat in the queue then went through as the lights went green, hiccupped through and popped out at the lake only for my navigator to realise he'd boobed and we needed to be going the opposite way so turned around and queued to go back.  Just past green light, said fuel pump died. Luckily this way was down hill so we coasted quietly all the way to the bottom and popped out at the other end.  If we had broken down going the other way?  Hmmmmn . . . . . :-/
  6. My 4 cyl GT tubular manifold is mild steel.  I'm rather keen to preserve it given its uniqueness!
  7. where did you get yours done James?
  8. sadly A539 are not made anymore so unless you find old stock your choice may already be made! great summer/wet tyre though, but no good in snow!
  9. Old stuff will be brittle, it will also differ in colour/shade from what you have as they all fade with age & weather to different degrees. I may have a small bit too, let me know if no-one closer to you comes up with it. The whole lot is missing on the front and rear screens in the GT6 so I need to source some new. When I get around to doing that, I may possibly have a new lump left over. Rgds Mike
  10. I'm guessing its an out of stock item  - leaving it "avail" at a price no-one wants to pay saves the trader the bother of re-listing   :-/

  13. CRAJ wrote:I have a 4.11 diff from a mk1 which I would like to try in the pi for trackdays, is it simply a case of changing the backplate for a mk2 saloon one and bolting it in? Has anyone (out of interest) run a pi with a 4.11? Colin. I think Doug Foreman (DGF) has a 4:11 in his mk1 2000 (fitted with 2.5 lump?)

  15. no idea on ratios but I believe the Mk1 PI servo has the greatest assistance of the lot!
  16. pretty sure Kas Kastner had one out there?  Or possibly it was a 250 . . .
  17. always better to over insure a little rather than under! which one in particular were you thinking of?   :-)
  18. I insure my projects at "condition 3" values, maybe a little more if the new panels etc are in the boot!
