  1. Yes maybe instructions need to be explained to new entrants again.  But we have used exactly the same area since at least 2008, my pics on this pc only go back that far!! 2008
  2. Edinburgh Airport is a prestige control we have used for quite a few years. The authorities have been very kind to allow us our own barriered area right in front of the terminal building. If you follow the instructions given at the the drivers meeting, ie " head right for the main terminal building" you shouldn't have gone wrong!! ;) . Many thanks again to the marshalls and of course the Airport Authority.
  3. Tim, to be fair, the only thing on the list that was a problem was the sticky throttle pedal. The car was great overall, I really enjoyed  it.  If you want a hand to sort stuff out, just ask mate. Thanks again Tim.
  4. Use the road book Stuart, it's what it's there for! all tried and tested, plus you'll get a buzz from being with other triumphs. The organisers have put a hell of a lot of time and effort into this event- why would you want to go a different way??????   :-/
  5. Hi Bainzy, no i'm running 185/60x13 yokohama A539 s
  6. surely you cn ring up your insurance company and "up" the mileage limit???
  7. i have superflex bushes ans spax adjustable shocks on my spit. they are superb, the car handles well and the ride is good. given the choice though, i think i would go for konls next time; i used koni on my mini and the shocks worked for many years needing zero attention once they were set up.
  8. Been there a few times with my customers wheels, for them to rectify faults. All seem fairly accommodating and easy to do business with.
  9. don't Canleys sell a nice single exit system????? i'm sure Tim Bancroft has one fitted??

  11. hey Neil, that's a shame. would be nice to see you again, thought we could have made up two thirds of a team!
  12. neilnaz is a good guy, all we need is a another member with a car and a well seasoned team is ready to go!!!
  13. Due to personal circumstances, it doesn't look as if I will be able to enter the RBRR this year  :( However, there is a chance that I will be available as a co driver; so if anyone out there needs a little extra help with the miles then perhaps we could have a chat????
  14. oh the nanny state again!! surely if you want bald tyres it's your perogative??? all this duty of care nonsense is a pain in the bum. my other half bought a new car the other day, the dealer wouldn't let her proceed unless she showed her driving licence, told her it was the law, duty of care etc. picture his face when we promised him only the chauffeur would drive it!
  15. millers 10/60. excellent oil, used about a pint over the run in toms 2.5pi,on a 84k mile engine. not terrible and after this thrashing it still sound sweet.
  16. well the reason the dolly nuts are the shape they are is to locate the rim centrally on the hub, without the need for a spigot. you'll find many older type alloy wheels use this method, similarly steel rims use domed or tapered nuts to centralise the wheel. modern wheels tend to ue a spigot ring to locate the rim on the hub, partly because bolts are used instead of studs and nuts
  17. yes well that certain supplier has some good kit, and i can't fault the part i bought from him, but i have to say he was somewhat economical with the truth with me too. nonetheless you'll be pleased with the end result i'm sure.
  18. you will need to weld the front ends of the sills, replace the voltage regulator on the bulkhead, by the servo, and prob some tyres for the mot. i was running it with lowered springs, spax shocks and sprint wheels with 185/60x13 falken tyres.  not fast, but handled quite well!!! so glad you've rescued it!!!! i think i've got the brown vinyl for the parcel shelf too, i was going to make another one because that cardboard has some dodgy speaker holes in it doesn't it!!!
