  1. I have used this route for years on my GT6 and 2.5 saloon, no problem.
  2. I must apologise. The Rules and Regs within this month's Secs Notes state that I am the Event Organiser, this is wrong as it is Matt Helm. Sorry. Attached are the Rules and Regs and the Entry Form.
  3. Nitromors is'nt as good as it used to be, try Wickes Paint and varnish stripper, £12.95 for 2.5L. Evidently paint stripper cannot have methylene chloride in it anymore? This comes from the recent edition of Classics Monthly.
  4. Usual types: Why not use a Triumph parts specialist? Most mail order quickly? I am now totally confused, could someone post the part no.s of Mann filters that can be used and if an adapter is needed? Sorry to be a PITA.
  5. I am in constant communication with Dave, will give him a nudge. Good bloke is Dave.
  6. Are there any of those dodgy shafts around still? Hope I am not imparting poor information.
  7. Finally, we have managed to arrange this year's CT Historic Autosolo. It is set for Saturday 19th October 2013 at Bovingdon, Herts. We realise that a Saturday may be awkward, buit its the only date we have been able to arrange with the owners of the runway. Regs and Entry Form in this month's forthcoming Secs Notes.
  8. Talk to James Shackford,a CT Member. He's a good lad and will help. Beware improving a car costs serious money these days. Get the foundation right first before spending money on increasing the power. Suspension and brakes need to be sorted first to enable you to exploit power increases. Good luck
  9. In answer to Andy T's question, yes this car featured on the Sideways Forum and on this forum years ago. Did'nt the chap race a GT6 in the late 80s or 90s? Sure he mentioned something about Goodwood times etc. Fascinating car, very interesting. Anyone have a snap of the front suspension?
  10. Gaz, Thanks for the info, really useful. Sorry that I have not thanked you before.
  11. Nick, Was'nt the GT6 owned by Dave Picton at one point?
  12. Its grim up there. Gawd, lets keep this talk of the Stretch down to a minimum please. I could not see a Mayflower making it around? What about a Roadster?
  13. Just cannot believe that was 10 years ago. I had gearbox issues on the eve of the event, box was in and out 3 times!!! Got to say, I do wish I was going this time, I will be on it in 2015. Met some great people on that first run, many who I now consider to be good friends. Thanks, Martin Randle. Good luck to all taking part this time.
  14. My mk2 GT6 was exactly that when I bought the car in '83. Changed later to a 3.63:1 ratio diff and o/d, but perfectly useable with the 3.27:1. Worry more about the condition of the body structure. Good luck.
  15. Gary/Marcus, I am being lazy here. Can you list the part no.s of these filters for the 4 cylinder engines and the 6 cylinder engines?
  16. Tim, you are spot on, a Gentry did do the event, will have to look up my records. I still think the event is crying out for an entry using a 948cc Herald. Bill or Dave? Also, I would love to see a Standard Vanguard of any type take part.
  17. Martin, Good choice that, you going for the KYB. I have them on my saloon and they seem fine. I have found them to offer good damping and are one less thing to worry about. Correct spring rates and a quality damper like the KYB will be more than adequate.
  18. Feltham Radiators, on the same estate as Moss at Hanworth. Brilliant company who are very helpful. At the end of the M3, so relatively easy to get to and back from.
