  1. Just drained mine, the wing nut moves not the threaded nut, make sure the rad cap is off otherwise it doesn't drain very well. RR
  2. Got a Canley one on the GT6, i can highly recommend theirs, turns the engine over nicely compred to the original which was standard fitment on Mini's & Morris Minors of much lesser dispacement. RR

  4. Your need a thermostat with JIC fittings.

  6. I went for 165's for no other reason than i use the same wheels & tyres on another classic, 175's would probably been the better bet for the GT6. RR
  7. Don't wrap it if its mild steel, it will rust through after one winter.
  8. But if it was an MOT tester the engine was at idle, the jets may just need adjusting up.
  9. Have you adjusted the jets?
  10. Got a recored one from James Paddock for about that money. RR

  12. Agree duff alternator. Just gone to change mine on the 1380 & the bl**dy shaft diameter is 19/32 instead of 21/32 so the pulley doesn't fit the new alternator. Worth checking what you have before you order. RR
  13. Sorry folks for a non Triumph post, but heres the 66 Tiger, caught fire in 72 , badly shot blasted then left in a damp lockup for 30+ years. I would really like a LAT vented bonnet, John. http://www.sunbeamtiger.co.uk/index2.htm just look for Brads Tiger. RR
  14. You can still look at them i just won't be there, perhaps you could do a LAT ali bonnet for the Tiger for me?

  16. Truely awsome work John, my mate did a similar thing with a Bmw 3 litre, made it look like a Bugatti. He did the same gas welding, i remember he had to have a different nozzle & found out that black marker pen lines disapparer when the metal is the right temperature to weld!

France has some lovely roads which really suit the GT6 and on the way, I'm hoping to call in at two or three Triumph friendly garages just to say hello. That reminds me I must get the breathalysers! You can call in to see me if you want if i'm still at home, if not your welcome to use the garage for any running repairs, send me a PM & i'll end my contact no. & post code. RR
  18. Turn the car upside down, let gravity assist the spring.
  19. You loosen the dizzy clamp then swing it to get the correct timing mark, personnally i think 12 BTC is a bit much & would go for 7BTC, though i'm sure aomeone will be along shortly to say otherwise. RR
  20. What kind of timing light do you have first, a simple one or an adjustable? RR
  21. That site is blocked here, whats the asking price?
  22. I wouldn't bother until the rest of the engine needs to spin up faster to get it working properly, i.e. race cam, head, DHLA's etc..
