rotoflex
Is the exhaust manifold for a '72 TR6 interchangeable w/'72 GT6?
Jason
I always thought a manifold made for a GT6 would fit onto a TR6 but a manifold made for a TR6 wouldn't go onto a GT6 but as I have neither TR6 nor a TR6 manifold here, I'm guessing :-)
Deleted User
it's a real struggle to fit because the 2 pipes come out parallel to the engine block, and the chassis is so arranged to require them in the other plane,- one behind the other...but they do clear the carbs I believe quite well. (or it certainly does with SUs, as I used to have exactly that on a TR5 engine I had in an estate),- went really well!If you can arrange them by getting the pipes twisted back and bent to pass the chassis rails it's a real wiz mod to do on a GT6 and can give you as much as 15bhp!It also happens to work REALLY well on saloons too.I have no idea why they didn't do that from the factory,-it's so much better than that 'orrible thing that brings them all into 1 single....for best results take a twin system all the way to the back of the car and merge them into 1 silencer,-noisy british sports cars style but good!
