Nick Williams
I am currently restoring a TR7 convertible with an extensive welding schedule . The car has a body kit fitted with spoilers and wheel arch additions. Where the body kit meets the lip of the wheel arches there is a gap all along the arch which holds mud and rust has started. I was going to treat the rust and then seal the join between arch and the kit with glass fibre . Anyone got any better ideas ? Best wishes Nick
Beans
I'd discard or sell the body kit. It will always remain a dirt and rust trap. Added bonus is that the car will look so much cleaner without it!
Howard
Moisture will still get in between the fibre glass and the metal and the corrosion will continue.
Nick Williams
Thanks for the replies . I did consider taking off the sill covers just to see what was underneath but I guess common sense should prevail . Shame , as I quite like the kit
