Clive
Makes no difference. I think even the workshoo manual shows them fitted both ways round! And I have seen roughly equal numbers front and rear.
Dogsbody47uk
My manual says to the rear, but like Clive, I've seen them fitted either way round!

Dogsbody47uk
I believe so...but... It's Triumph we're talking about.
GTRoger
Collected my now balanced propshaft from the workshop today and asked the mechanic which way round it should be fitted. He told me the splined end should be fitted at the highest mounting point which normally is the gearbox. So fitted it that way, although it was the other way round when I took it off. Roger.....who do you believe, ....a young Nederlander mechanic or an old Triumph owner/driver, staring at the original workshop manual ,showing the slider at the rear?......careful how you answer....or you will never drive my car again(with a slider at the rear) ;)
GTRoger
Yeah I know your car does slide a bit at the rear.... Maybe you sort out your propshaft????????????????????????? :P
MikeTeesside
I've heard some people with vibration issues, even after balancing, have corrected it by putting the splined part towards the gearbox side. But except for that the "correct" way is the splined part to the diff side.
