Got a Subaru haven't you? Cars of a sporting nature in production after 1992 may be admitted at the discretion of the organisers

Main problem would be, not doing overnight stays......due to the Subaru speed and being able to do the whole run in on go
One spit wing off and boot strengthener done....watch this space(pray)

I would have thought the Practical Classics article would have attracted the last six

In light of the tragic news of Martin Randles untimely death it has been decided that this event is now closed to further entrants.

The event WILL TAKE PLACE as planned, not least in tribute to the man who came up with this fantastic annual run out through some of the best bits of the North.

Any questions relating to the weekend should be addressed to myself, Mike Charlton (Velocita Rosso) or Mik Davis via the forum.

It is with regret and severe disappointment that I have to withdraw my entry to this year's poignant Border Raiders. Unfortunately Sue has a neck and shoulder problem at present and found some of the minor northern roads we encountered last week very uncomfortable in a firmly riding TR. We feared that more of the same over two days could aggravate the problem and compromise her navigating for me on September's 10CR.

I note that the entry was closed as of 9th June and with my withdrawal I believe it stands at 22 cars. I now wonder if a previously disappointed team would like to take up my place. I had booked a double room at The Old Stone Trough for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. I just checked and note that they are fully booked for the Friday and Saturday nights, in view of this I will delay cancelling  my reservation until 31st July in case a possible replacement team needs a room.

Although of course sympathetic to Sue I am really gutted to be missing this event and wish it every success.

Tim

Apologies for the delayed response, I've not been keeping up with the forum recently.

I'm sorry you can't join us for this event Tim. If anyone does want to take Tim's place for The Border Raiders I suggest you contact Tim directly in the first instance and make arrangements to change the hotel booking, and then send me a private message on here so we can sort out the necessary paperwork.

Just to assure all entrants, that The Border Raiders/Northern Run is still on and the event is still going ahead to the planned schedule (as per the regs printed)
The route is all ready and will be handed out at the start on the Saturday morning at The OST
Friday night is P and P night and all are welcome to join us on the night

The event start sheet envelopes have been stuffed with numbered rally plates/zip straps/suction cups
Spares JIC will be available and there will be a little something, more, to make this a bit more memorable
The entrants will be starting at one minute intervals.......but not in the order of the forum postings. Please do not ask why......you all have a place and will be starting on the morning after a preliminary briefing.
Look forward to seeing you all Friday/Saturday
Ian/Chris/Mik and Mike

Hi Mike

What time are you all setting off on the Sunday morning? It's going to be an early start for me to get there from Crewe. I trust you all have a good trip on the Saturday. I will raise a glass to you all whilst I am at the cricket at Old Trafford, hopefully watching England beating South Africa.

Regards

Bruce

Regs state 9am on Sunday. With 20-odd cars to set off at one minute intervals though we'll be there for a while. The earlier start on the second day was deliberate and is intended to allow those with a long distance to travel home to have a chance at a slightly earlier finish if they want, without having to rush.
