don cook1
Its the clutch one. I had a spillage of fluid here and have just cleaned it all up and painted the damage. Cylinders are both back on but there is very little room to fit the rubber dust covers; the ones that go over the clevis pins.Is there a magic way of doing this? WIMPUS
Mine are off for a long time now because i had leaks .. But i always put them in hot water first before installing them. It's still a bit of a pain :o
Paudman
It needs someone above to push them down while you lean into the footwell and snap the lip into place around the aperture. Difficult to do on your own...
Velocita Rosso
The easy way is , drop them in a bowl of hot water, fish out when ready(pliable), push the boot down and back so the slotting drops into the bulkhead at the rear, then lower down and just use a flat screwdriver or similar pushing the lower lip of slot down and follow all way around until seated Some are badly moulded and have a curve in them not allowing the LH or RH to seat properly
don cook1
OK Cheers. I'm fitting a clutch Master Cylinder repair kit, once that's done I'll put both boots into hot water. Looks a pig to do given all the brackets in the way.
heraldcoupe
There are several different manufacturers of the master cylinder boots. There are some particularly shiny ones which are extremely inflexible, others have a duller finish and will conform to heat a lot more easily.Cheers,Bill. don cook1
Ahhh...mine are a bit shiny. Might try to pop the whole thing down and as I pull it back up slide a hook under the uppermost lip. Oh well, the repair kit should arrive today then I'll have a go.
