JensH
Track Rod & Inner Ball Joint? Rimmer has stock - but don't look at price (cheaper to buy a new steering rack...)Or Steering Arm (cast)?Rimmer has stock, but would be cheaper to buy s/h on evilbay (some NOS ones there too)
LouisW
I'm looking for the little steering arm that's attatched to the hub and that the tre connects to. I'll email spitfiregraveyard! Cheers
Duncdude
I needed a new RHS one for mine for pretty much the same reason. I managed to find a clean one on ebay for £3.I'm sure too that i saw a pair advertised on ebay just a few days ago too.

LouisW
I emailed spitfire graveyard and they said £12. Seems like quite alot for it. I'm going to try drill out the remnants of the old bolt. Fingers crossed!

JensH
12£ alot?Hmm - took me hours to free the last one. Binned it after; didn't trust cast that had been hammered to death!Canleys a very good deal IMHO.Thanks Harry, didn't spot the difference, sorry. drofgum
Jens,I doubt that the steering arm is cast. I think it is forged which makes it much better able to withstand the hammer. Cheers, Paul
JensH
Paul,It did look like cast to me, but must admit I just binned it as it was very rusty (and I had several extra still attached to other uprights in the bone-yard, left corner of my shed :o ) Will take a look later.Cheers,Jens
LouisW
I will wait for one to turn up on eBay or attempt to drill out the old bit. Might take it to school and try hydraulic press it out.
JensH
Louis,Have several here by me, but living in Copenhagen, Denmark, postage will be pricey - and I will have to take one off first (don't have the time next 2 or 3 weeks).PM me if you sill haven't found one then. LouisW
I'll let you know Jens, cheers! fingers crossed I'm able to get the bolt chunk out. I don't understand why it would be seized so badly considering it's just a non threaded hole it pushes through. Even a breaker bar on the bolt before I cut it off didn't work. JensH
It's not the Track Rod End??Did the vertical link survive?
LouisW
The vertical link did survive yes, I was EXTRA careful when grinding out the bolt (it was the middle one) so I had enough material that I could twist it out. Not a single mark on the vertical link thankfully.
