  1. I have a Blackline (chinese Quaiffe) ATB diff i need built into a 3:27 for the Vitesse which i think they have done before.Might call them. Steve
  2. My Vitesse, not a lot really, need to rebush the front suspension.Herald, new 1500 is in and done 500 miles, have to rebuild front and rear suspension and do the CV conersion i have on the shelf. Steve
  3. Not sure where you are or if you want Saloon or Convertible but this one may be worth a look, not perfect but useable if the ad is genuine(IF). https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-Herald-Convertible/254815732453?hash=item3b543382e5:g:yN4AAOSwFvVf4x~z Steve

    MK1 Vitesse

I have the same setup in my MK1 Vitesse,a slightly tuned 2.5 on that manifold, also modified inside for better flow.Short Dashpots. If yours is swing axle shafts you need to be careful, mine ate a driveshaft on the RBRR in Cornwall, snapped at the hub end, being overtaken by your own back wheel isn`t great. Steve
  5. And get rid of the Bots which seem to far outnumber the online users. S
  6. Am i missing something,TDC and the distributor is pointing to Number 4?? Should be 1 surely?. Steve
  7. There are also different length carriers, the brass one is the same as i had on the Vitesse,i had to change to a steel saloon one when i replaced the clutch with a paddle type plate as it was not disengaging and giving big clutch slip when booted. Saloon flywheel is thicker than the GT6/Vitesse one hence the shorter carrier. And they weigh as much as a small moon. Also i experimented with Vitesse 1600 and saloon slaves to get different travel. Need to know what components you have otherwise it`s all guesswork. S
  8. So it`s a 2.5 engine with a GT6 box,so which engine backplate, flywheel and clutch was fitted?. I have a 2.5 Vitesse but i used a saloon gearbox, Vitesse  backplate and flywheel. Clutch geometry took ages to get right and included chopping the slave operating rod to different lengths to get right. Yours looks like it`s too far forward and not disengaging. Steve
  9. Seems like the largest number of users on here now are bots. S
  10. I`ve had a 3:63 in my 13/60 FH 1300 engined Herald for 9 years now, including a single rail o/d box.I think i changed the prop as the o/d required it anyway (shorter).Always found it fine to drive with easier cruising at 70 no problem, the only thing it won`t do is go up a decent hill in o/d top.Did the RBRR in it no issues. About to put a new 1500 in though for more fun..+Cv conversion. S
  11. Ok i`m in,bought one for the Vitesse 2.5,hope its ok with a 3:27 with TR7 carrier...   Steve
  12. Hopefully i have a working Triumph fairly soon, maybe i need to buy another. Steve
  13. That`s how my Vitesse is and i don`t see any delay in pressure,i use Fram filters from an Escort? Steve
  14. I have a Vitesse but could offer some of my experiences with running gear... Engine spec is 2.5 (PI Originally) with ported and flowed head,Jag valve springs, only running 2 x HS6`s but with worked on manifold.TR5 cam, fully balanced, blueprinted oil pump etc.Compression 10:1 ,Mike the pipe 6-3-1 into custom made single box system by Simpson race exhausts. I went for the Saloon box with J type OD which as Clive said went in fairly easily.I have a 3:27 diff with a different carrier(TR7?).I did away with the cable speedo and went electronic along with the rev counter. The car made 172bhp on a rolling road after running in and it is a joy to drive with tons of low down grunt and great acceleration with a top speed i haven`t come near to as its scary in convertible Vitesse. The only part of the running gear i managed to break was a driveshaft but mine were MK 1,i have now gone the Nick Jones CV route. Steve

  20. This is what i did when i installed a TLD cam in a 2.5 some years ago.Valve timing was 105 degrees ATDC from memory. Must have been pretty close as it went like a train. S
  21. We,ll be in again.Probably in my Herald with the new 1500 engine. Steve + Kathy.
