I had similar prob on a bumper.but it was too narrow, so I stretched it.
you may need to ..shrink it..

other things to look at, re adjust the corner valences, they may be out now,!!!
may need to re align bonnet too.
or try and half the differences..
the bumper will pull in a little, but so too will the corner valences,
so making bonnet line O rang.

TIP, lower bonnet doon about 3/4 way, and hold up with a brush heed,
this lets ye get a socket on a extension bit, into the middle bumper bolts easier.

Hi ,
I was also thinking about the corner valances , but they sit good at the wheel arches and so ..

i also adjusted the bonnet a little higher , that seamed better ..
I only can remember when i broke down the car there where a great amount of washers and stuff between the front and also at the rear .. :-/

Unfortunately ,this is now why a car should not be finish painted until it has been assembled and everything made to fit beforehand
When i fitted all my front end ,I had hacksaws and angle grinders cutting and slotting and made to fit properly  before any lick of paint went near
It will be a case of trial and error now with made up spacer tubes and washers

Wim,
If I didn't know better, I'd swear that the left side corner of your bumper is distorted - pulled up and out a bit, where that shine (that looks like Caspar the friendly ghost) is. Is it bent?

Leave time (schedule it) to go out and get drunk during the restoration btw. It's important.

...that`s also the problem..............being serious you should go out and get a few drinks. The art of getting it right is ,being able to walk away from such things, have a break and then  come back to it when the mind is fresh.
I`m of the age that I`ve learned by these mistakes and should pass them on to beginners/learners.
I used to plough into such things and then realise `more haste ,less speed`
I`d love to come over and help but you are `nt near enough.................

i'm going to make the best out of it for now .. and look for replacement at ebay and local site's

Also does somebody know what it cost for to re-chrome a bumper ? Don't have a idea how much it going to cost  :-/

Hi Wim,
I had similar problems with my front bumper, as it had to be extensively de-dented and rechromed. To fit it, I attached the two middle bolts first, which involved making one of the chassis mounting holes oval. Once I was satisfied that the bumper was centred properly, ie not offset towards the left or right side of the car, I fitted the quarter valences and jiggled them around until they fitted. The bonnet hasn't been fitted yet, so I don't know how well the quarter valences will line up with it... fingers crossed they are in the right place.

My bumper had been dented and twisted, so I had to find a specialist who could straighten it and then polish and rechrome it. It was about Au$800, but when I compare the before and after pictures, he earned his money.
