Steve AKA vitessesteve
My local Halfords did not stock anything for my TR7. What battery do you use?
Beans
I have always used Bosch in my Triumphs, currently both cars have a Bosch S4 023.The last one i had to replace lasted well over 15 years.
Spider
Cheaper on ebay than Halfroids by about half. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bosch-S4-Car-Battery-Typ-043-159-057-4-Year-Guarantee-/230711416990?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35b778d89e
thescrapman
TheoI can't find a 023 battery made by Bosch. The one Mr Spider has linked to is a 043 / 159 / 057, not sure if that is the right size.ISn't a TR7 limited to a 038? Or is that another Triumph.CheersColin

Steve AKA vitessesteve
Just back from Allwoods http://www.allwoods-automotive.co.uk/ my local independent car parts place. Picked up an Oldham advanced battery (3 year calcium chemistry) for £47.99. Apparently the same size as a classic mini and getting difficult to source - several makers no longer produce to that spec - I was told.Spec of new batteryNormally TR7 and TR7 Sprint have their battery under the bonnet - there is room for bigger battery on the tray. + 5cm width +2cm depth or so. TR8 has batteries in the boot so size not an issue.

thescrapman
I thought it was going to be a 038.Same as original for a Spitfire, and as they said, a proper Mini.Cheers
Doug Paterson
Halfords is not the place to buy a battery. Prices there are ludicrous. Go to a decent motor factor and pay less than half the price

Go to a decent motor factor and pay less than half the priceI only tried them because I have a trade card + also have a coupon for an extra 10% over and above the trade discount that expires soon. That's the one, don't know the measurements and it's to cold to go outside but it fits the TR7's battery tray. But the S4 023 is the same size as the old one it replaces ...
