DougBGT6
But I now know that Spitfire MK3s have Jaegar dials, which I didn't know before. So, the knowledge of age passed down the years! Who am I kidding? ;D
Dogsbody47uk
Smith's or Jaeger ? Depends, probably whether there was a z in the month when the car was assembled. Oil pressure when hot should be 40 to 60 psi at 2000 rpm.
DougBGT6
I'm sort of worried by that, I know everybody is concerned by low pressure but mine is as high as 90 when cold and 70 to 50 when hot. :-/ Dodgy gauge, probably? :-/

Mine isn't running yet, but can manage 60psi on the starter motor alone ??) it will be interesting to see what it can do when it actually runs! Tim Bancroft
In the old days, people used to claim oil pressure gauges out of Minis as the 850 and 1000 had them as standard.I'd fit a Smiths one. with braided oil hose.
