Chambers
Ive just put the Diff back on my Spit 1500 but to bolt the flanges to the drive shaft/prop shaft I need some new bolts. Can someone tell me the size and length of the bolts (not including the head) Also are yours just regular nuts with no washers? This is what I took off so just wanted to checkThanks guys
CHRIS211083
Bolts should be shouldered so flange can't turn, nuts should be nyloc type. Always replace the nyloc, don't know length.Chris.

Richard B
Isn't a 1500 Spitfire 3/8" UNF? Same as the GT6 & Vitesse.Correct, no washers.ps rule of thumb, if its a 1/2" AF Spanner its 5/16", if its a 9/16" AF Spanner its 3/8". Most Triumph stuff is UNF even some things which should be UNC ??)
Clive
Yep, late spit is indeed 3/8unf, length less head 24mm or so, and the unthreaded portion is 9mm. Nylocs must be used, the original type are a tad thinner than the normal type, but not too important. The specialists should be able to supply all from stock. If buying locally, make sure the bolts are hardened to 8.8 or higher.
