DaveKent
does it dine as well as wine? sounds like you've got a good thing going there!!!!!!!!!!!
Richard B
if the Whine is dependent on car speed then it's diff if it changes with the gears my money is on the gearbox. Also when in 4th the gearbox is running 1-1, so there is less stress on the unit (and probably less noise).
martin
the noise gets less as you go through the gears.but if you run the wheel up in the air no noise but i guess that coz theres no load/stress.i know you cannot use molyslip on such like in a o/d box, is there anything you can use ? i will rebuild the g/box in time but i have only just got it on road so want to drive it a bit first. Richard B
Sorry I'd say bit the bullet and get it rebuilt gearbox (or buy another unit). It should'nt take you more than a day to change a box if you have a spare unit ready to go in.
thescrapman
I suspect that after 17yrs you have forgotten how noisy a vitesse box can be. Is it a lot worse than the 13/60??? I would drive it until it breaks. If it lasts 10 more years you have earned 10 years more interest on your £250.Colin
