    Door glass adjustment?

Ron I have the same problem with my gt6.  does the glass rise evenly until midway and then starts to move towards the B post?  if so it's the winder mechanism that's worn.  I have just bought a couple off ebay to see if this fixes things.

  4. the vents were originally sealed with a mastic tape similar to that used in the roofing and cladding industry to seal the side laps of the sheets.  I have rolls of it at work.  I can post you some if you need it?
  5. Hi Nick The A pillars are indeed black but when i had my new headlining made I asked them to continue this down the A-pillar.  Looks great and lightens up the cabin a little.
  6. Don't worry Nick you will soon be using the bulkhead as a tool tray
  7. I think Nicks idea is worth it because if you are like me every time i would lift the carpet i would regret not having done it!! I also find that even the expensive moulded carpets don't stay in place very well and can expose the floor.   Colour is great!  Glad it's not red!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D :B
  8. Looking great John but why didn't you have the inside painted while you were at it?
  9. mpbarrett wrote: Too many Tims... I was replying to Tim B. Your was very nice, yes did have a filter before the Huco pump. cheers mike No wonder i was a bit confused!!!!!!
  10. Anyone going to Bovingdon and then passing through the midlands on their way home?  I need a couple of exhaust manifolds collecting.  I would pop down myself but cannot drive on doctors orders for the next few weeks.
  11. mpbarrett wrote:Tim thats interesting! I mounted mine at the front on the outside of the engine valance (in the cold air) shame it started playing up before the run which is why I went back to the mechanical one! Do you have an air box on the carbs? Anyay here is a picture of Libby demostrating the fuel pump  Water cooling system on available on the later Mk3 GT6's... With the pump she was able to pump water along the orange pipe onto the top of the fuel pump.!! Mike No just a very large heat shield between carbs and filters.  Did you fit a plastic filter before the micro filter that screws into the electric fuel pump??  I didn't when I fitted mine and I thought I was getting fuel vaporisation when it was just a blocked micro filter.  I killed one pump with it running dry because the micro filter doesn't take much to get blocked. You did have a look over mine while we were waiting for the ferry in France. Tim
  12. I didn't have any fuel problems. I have an electric pump fitted on the chassis at the rear, fuel lines routed on bulkhead, stainless heat shields between manifold and carbs and a very large ali heat shield between carbs and K&N filters with a 3" cold air pipe from rad cowl to heat shield in an attempt to duct cold air to the carbs. GT6 MK3 with 2.5l and HS6 carbs

  15. i brought a referb tomtom710 from totalpda  £83 delivered.  It only comes with 2009 maps of europe but it's better than nothing!
  16. I don't know if it's relevant but my710 manual says this Note: The Itinerary planning button is only available when all menu buttons are shown. To show all menu buttons, tap Show ALL menu options in the Preferences menu. Couldn't find it for ages! Tim (Team 53)
  17. Yes mine is mallard.  Great colour!!  My laptop is down at the moment so i'm using the wifes.  No pics of my car on the wifes pc sorry

  19. 573 wrote:THANK YOU VERY MUCH,that number confirms what someone else has recently told me.i thought it seemed alot to me as when i put mine on a flat surface and leveled the front it was only 8 inches.must have been something wrong .i am not putting a different front  on the old frame i am putting a new front on a new frame.lol i have built a new frame from 2x3x.125" box steel.this a custom frame and will hold a 347 ford stroker, corvette diff, custom front and rear wishbone suspension, coilover shocks etc, etc, etc.i am just at the part of the build where i have to put the bumper mount on and needed the lost dimension.once again i thank you very much .another fellow on the net in the states also gave me that measurement but seeing as how i couldn't confirm it was correct i needed a second opinion. now i can get on with the build(woot)(woot)

Don't argue with me, argue with Rimmers: http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID008077, who ahev the part, on that part num ber, in stock. If I have the part no. wrong, mea culpa. But if I describe a part as 'late GT6' when it's really 'late GT6 in America' or 'in 1500s', WHO BLOODY CARES, as long as the part number is correct? John try getting your facts right and i wouldn't have to offer "petifogging criticism" of your mistakes!!!  none of us are perfect but theres no need to be an asshole about it :P
  21. JohnD wrote:OR, you pipe it, Front Right + Front Left Rear Right + Rear left then add a brake pressure regulating valve in the primary rear pipe. Voila! Adjustable brake balance, without the bother of two master cylinders! A late GT6 master is a tandem. Part No. 213690 A recess in the bulkhead is required. John Sorry John but late UK GT6 does not have a tandem master cylinder.  As far as i know only USA gt6 and late spitfire 1500 were fitted with the tandem cylinder
  22. tiggrr1 wrote:Tim Having seen the nice stuff on your driveway that you are used to driving :) Don't expect miracles from your GT6 ,  compared to your modern stuff ;) Might I suggest (if you have not yet had it done) a full 4 wheel alignment on one of those laser setups. I did it just before the 10 countries run and it is the best thing I have done to my GT6. It makes a hell of a difference when all the wheels are working together and not fighting each other :o ;D 8) Hey steve I am comparing it to phils early MK3 (the red pi one) He has sliding spline rear shafts so he doesn'r suffer from camber change.  I haven't even had the tracking done following the rebuild so i'm not supprised it don't handle.  I am going to sort the  camber on the rear first and make the tie rods adjustable then take it and have it 4 wheel aligned.  I will need some fast road settings if anyone can help?
  23. Nick_Jones wrote:Interesting.... are those MGF discs and calipers?  Seems to be more room on swing axle rear end.... Nick Well spotted Nick.  Very easy conversion on swing spring.  Loads of room.  You have to be careful of the handbrake cable it can foul the inner arch so some mods to the way it connects to the caliper is required.  I did send my old shafts to Mike Papworth who set the clearence between disc and caliper when he refurbed the shafts for me.  The caliper fouls the inside of the disc so you need to press the inner hub onto the shaft an extra 5-6mm from standard.
