    New prop

Got my self a custom built prop for the tr7. The prop has UJ and a sliding joint and a lot less play
  4. I brought the car from David Walker one of many triumphs growing in his garden. This one was missing the floor. Because it was so wet I put a heater in the car to dry it out
  5. Long journey of repair to a very rusty Triumph Stag. Comes with a rover v8 engine as opposed to the triumph one but motive power is the least of my worries at the moment.
  6. I have a nice new heritage Sill for my stag . I assume the jacking points weld inside but they appear too short by some margin... is this me being daft or just poor quality repro parts.
  7. Clutch Hydraulics have now been repaired, new seals for the master cylinder new slave ,s/h link pipe from Robsport as the one fitted was a length of copper pipe which isnt ideal to compensate for the engine movement. I took my clear glass filter, you know the ones from ebay, found it had a load of crud in it, I replaced it with a cheepo disposable one , not least as the pipe opening appeared very narrow.
  8. hmm.... The fuel tank and sender is new, the pipe work is new as is fuel pump and carbs rebuilt with Grosser float valve. The pipe is 1/4 the only slight problem i can see is the start of a kink at a bend in the pipe but nothing huge and not enough to stop high revving on the lanes and b roads.
  9. Beans thats fuel pump i have however i have a 4 branch manifold , K&N panel filter and the uprated BAL needles.
  10. Yes the car was a right mess, sadly I dont think it will straighten. The near side suspension had pressed back right into the bulk head. Pleased they are all OK. My TR7 decided it didnt like clutch fluid and it ran dry coming down the yorkshire dales after the stop. Stupidly I hadnt brought any any so I headed for the M6 and home . Clutch hydraulic seals are getting completely replaced now. The car though performed ok no water loss after a top up at the start, which i put down to just changing the water pump prior to the event and an air lock working out. Generally on the A and B road we were ok although on the Motorway I kept losing power if i went over 70. I think this was down to petrol as I have an Air fuel meter which went very lean at the time it was happening. Its a new fuel pump too so may be a vapour lock or the pump cant keep up with the demand at that speed. Who knows need an electric pump for the EFI conversion this summer so I may put the wiring and LP pump in in preparation.
  11. There was and it was horrid to drive in. Dropping off the hills it was fine.
  12. In preparation for the C2C ... I have treated the TR7 to a new water pump... How much! There was slight seepage at this and inlet manifold so all was cleaned and replaced. Whilst fixing this I decided to fit a new DAB aerial as the last suffered too much drop out. I took the console out and then noticed a metal 'cup' on the top of the gear change lever broken off, a dab of weld will fix that, so I took off the inspection hatch then found the gear box remote was wobbling a lot, a slight investigation found the four rear bushes has disintegrated and the front ones were well on there way. Sadly I knew know different. The remote was cleaned and new bushes fitted.
  13. Howard you reckon we can do the whole run on one tank of petrol?
  14. Un appreciative of the Wedge. I didnt realise what fun the wedge is until I got mine going. Nice poke of power and quite comfortable. Brakes are a bit rubbish though.
  15. The beam pattern on this LEDs is excellent. I took my 7 to the MOT shop and alligned the lights, I have no flashing from on coming drivers on dip.
  16. Jim I have those on my Seven they are very good.
  17. Sorry head... doh Manifold i meant. Nick I would be interested in shots of your Spit set up. That was my original plan but the car got sold.
  18. Hi Both well research is going well. I have the TR7 Injection head. The mating surface to the block was a bit battered so its having a skim to help it out. II have the ECU https://diy-efi.co.uk/product/diy-efi-core4-te36 as well . This has the option to drive 4 ignition channels and 4 injectors, so I may go for a coil on plug design, although I do have a coil with built in ignitor so may go for that first. I have a throttle body which i will have to mate to my own plenum I'll make. When i have my Manifold back i'll start on that. My 7 manifold came with 4 injectors which I will have to clean and test. Fuel supply will need a more powerful pump which i will need to plumb in. Lots to think of , i'll try to get come picks when i get going
  19. Ben top stuff. Restoring a Stag so sure any number will be helpful.
  20. Right now the 7 is running reasonably... time for some modern electric gubbings. I have a Speeduino Ecu with which to run ignition and fuel injection for the 7. I acquired an injection manifold from Ebay recently so this is now the nucleus of my hardware. I'll need to fabricate my own plenum as the OE is only suitable for LHD cars. Sensors will be for Coolant sensor, Air Temp , Wideband Lamda , TPS, MAP as well as the obligatory Crank sensor. I'm hoping to achieve, better emissions/efficiency and a stronger spark and if i get a HP or two extra champion! Has anyone done this or is anyone interested in how my adventures work? Hopefully may have it all running by RBRR.
  21. Wife and I are jabbed up and have baby sitter arranged so fingers crossed TR7 permitting we will be there
  22. Apologies if I missed this . Does the extension to covid restrictions easing affect this event?
  23. Brave or stupid... no rush. Lots metal to be let in to rusty bits. It will be another Triumph saved though.
