Posted about this on Gt6 thread. I have a Rover V8 engine and Lt77 gearbox Any of you guys know about fitting this to a Triumph six ? I have heard 2300 2600 SD1 bellhousing may be used ? There are two 2600 SD1's breaking on ebay at present. Really I need to know what along with the bellhousing will I need ? Thanks in advance Laurence

Firstly because I have it. secondly because current box is a 2500 S unit also described by some as a horrible heavy clunky old box. WITH HORIBLE RATIOS ! There currently is a 2600 SD1 breaking on the bay of evil. Laurence

As title has anyone ever done this ? I have a V8 Rover engine and LT77 box lurking in workshop and was wondering if the LT77 box can be mated to my modded EFI 2.6 ? I do not want to fit the Rover engine Partially because exhausts and bonnet clearance for carb are both issues. The clutch arm cover will need to be cut off the bellhousing to clear chassis rail and a concentric slave cylinder will need to be fitted. THIS IS NOT THE PROBLEM ! The V8 Rover is similar size bellhousing and starter position is very similar. JUST WONDERING ! Laurence

899 kits ! "and no issues with them spining the races" That is not what the internet says ! Aluminium is absolutely fine. For mounting unloaded bearings in drills and washing machines. Laurence

Me neither seen them with totally shaged inner bearing spun on the spigot to the point of near welding but no movement on outer race to hub I have a mountain load of Gt6 Vitesse hubs all with tight races. A few years ago my mate who has also never seen a spun inner bearing outer (He has a load of them too) calved a bearing on the way to Stafford he nursed it packing it with grease for many miles. When he got there he had to cut and split the inner race to get it off but the outer race was not spun. New bearing kit fixed it. If spun outer races are so common surely it would have done in this case ? Laurence

Stock Gt6 hubs are nearly indestructible. That is why I use them I could break an anvil. Laurence

Yup impressive but even more so with the extra dies but they were near the same price as that kit. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1316.....e=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Laurence

It is actually a set currently on ebay at £47 free delivery. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Indu.....3:g:mj4AAOSwm8VUx1uF Chinese OBVIOUSLY but I bought a secondary set of dies, none duplicated from a German seller. Still a really good cheap comprehensive piece of kit. Laurence

Read that link WHAT A LOAD OF COCK ! It is about ten years since I have done one but the reality is you really only need to change the battery terminals and flash the dynamo or even better BIN the dynamo and fit an alternator. OHH YES ! Bin or Ebay any positive earth radio. Laurence

Yeah me too. My metal cutting I did with my many grinders and a good pair of Gillbows But have been away from my trade and this stuff so now cutting with Gillbows is far too hard on my nice soft clean weak hands. SOOOO to get back into this stuff I have just bought myself a portable hydraulic hole puncher with a very comprehensive set of dies. A set of dimple dies for use with said hole puncher (might start fabricating roll cage gussets to sell on ebay) but my first hole and dimple projects is to lighten FURTHER my two alloy Kirkey race seats), a plasma cutter, a guillotine and a Very heavy duty small (2ft) pan folder so my folding over pieces of angle are now over. Does not really matter I grease them while greasing the bearings. Laurence

I am in the 2.5 with 3.63 and 28% J Type OD Camp. Run with oversize tyres Say 185/70/13 you have 24 mph per 1000 rpm. My 2600 EFI runs this arrangement but 205'50/15 tyres 5800 rpm is shift light on (which is easy to her) is 140 mph. I also own a 2500 Gt6 and a 2500 Sixfire all cars run on same 3.63 and 28% OD. Saw a set of throttle bodies on t interweb some years ago, modified with sealed bearings fitted. But not a job for the faint hearted or those without their own engineering facilities. Laurence
