2500 est Posted February 14, 2013 Share Posted February 14, 2013 i have got the springs off from my front shocks but have found out that carn't use my own shock compressor to refit other wise the shock will get scratched after painting :(so has anyone got one of these i could borrower for a day/30mins to refit my springs to the shock's ;) local to me the better???? £43 to buy >:( just to use once) :B Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Thick gauge steel, with all the relevant holes for the top and bottom plates, and then a pair of threaded rods with the relevant nuts. Easy Peasy!!! garyf Posted February 14, 2013 Share Posted February 14, 2013 I've seen an improvised spring compressor made of two herald rims & two lengths of M10 or M12 Threaded Rod/washers/nuts?If you do make one, make sure its up to the job, there is a lot of force in compressed springs ??)If you're not sure what you are doing buy or borrow a proper tool made for Triumph Springs, not the clamp type that wrap over the coils. Paudman Posted February 14, 2013 Share Posted February 14, 2013 Keep the threads well greased as you use it, otherwise they'll strip quite easily, but the red one in the photo is still the simplest and best version for Triumph springs.
