  1. Just had a look on line as I am still waiting for the postman and an excellent mag as usual. Is there a arcive where the old mags are stored on line at all? I may have missed this?
  2. That is my understanding...
  3. Hopefully I am allowed to do this? Here is a links to a Ytube update that features our coast to coast run:
  4. I agree with Clive on there there are better things to spend your money on...
  5. Looks like a bargain to me... But I will resist the temptation.....
  6. I would bow to Rob and Nick expertise but I would hope that any 20/50 engine oil would have some pressure at working temp and not zero? I would try a second gauge first just to check before you look further. I also use a 20/60 oil
  7. Andy you are not their tour manager drumming up support as you new job? 😉
  8. I have just read that the LT77 Gearbox was a Jaguar developed gearbox My understanding was that it was a Triumph developed Gearbox to replace the aging Sprint/2000 gearbox? I know that they were used in the Tr7 and Tr8 but what was the first car they were used on? Anyone fitted one to a 2000/Stag? thanks Martin
  9. Pete you won't be the first person that has done this!😉
  10. Looks good, interesting to see the electric window motor mounted from the outside!
  11. one other advantage it that the K&N is washable and can be re used time and time over and I have one on my Stag in the standard housing. Just a thought...
  12. Colin if you are interested i do have a fully rebuild Manual and over drive gearbox (A type) sitting on my garage floor. If you are interested PM me and I can send you some picture and give you some details? Martin
  13. interesting I have been thinking about one for the Stag which is similar to the Spitfire. There are ones that in effect replace the rear view mirror are they any good does anyone have any experience with them. Ideally I would be good to have a fixed one in replacement of the rear view mirror that doesn't look to obvious and then wire it in permanently with hidden wiring down the screen pillar perhaps. This would then save me keep taking it in and out and unsticking/mounting it from the car? Martin
  14. I ran my 2.5 Spitfire for a number of years without a electric Thermostat and just used a manual switch and just kept an eye on the temperature gauge and turned it on as necessary.... Just a thought Martin
  15. I have gone for a alloy tanks for the Stag and when I took the old one out it was weeping from the drain plug and was the cause of a "petrol smelling" boot. The new one has has more capacity, no drain plug to leak from and had a return feed too. Hopefully it is a fit and forget now with E10 issues.... Martin
  16. I had a Webasto on my Mk1 Vitesse many years ago and it was brilliant. £650 doesn't sound to bad these days I think!
  17. My understanding was the Late 1500 Spitfire only had them on the drivers as standard. Martin
  18. Is he the one with the FORD kit car?😅 Well done CIive very deserved!
  19. I don't know these youngsters that need to use a hardtop in March! Not in my day😃 Martin
  20. Roy I agree with you I ran a 1500 spitfire with a 2.5 on su's plus a 28% J type. 3.63 and 14 inch wheels too An ideal choice and stronger that the 3.27 too Martin
  21. Wim very interesting keep up the posts? Martin
  22. Dave Hitchings of Caburn Engineering still runs it and lives down my road. Here is the website .www.caburn.uk/ Details of Hurricane further down the page.
  23. Agree with Tim and Polybush are almost fit and forget....
  24. Andy I would suggest just using the word "recommend having some one that is vaguely technical". I am not sure I would put myself in the category of competent amateur mechanic.... I'll have a go, but how do you measure it too... Don't forget changing a water pump on a Stag can be a whole can of worms too... I get you point though.... Martin M
