Barry Acclaim Guru
Try making a new gasget for the pump, pumps do not usually leak oil.

Adam Acclaim
Maybe the guru could confirm, but wouldn't a 1979-1984 Honda Civic fuel pump fit?? There are plenty on Ebay...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CIVIC-1-3-PIERBURG-Fuel-Pump-79-84-/310581529018?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Cars+Year%3A1983%7CModel%3ACivic&hash=item48501a09ba
Hobby
Certainly looks the same from the piccies in the Haynes manual... Other than the changes to the carbs the engine was a straight swap wasn't it?
Jacorosso
Cool thanks for your help. The old girl is going in next Friday for the dreaded MOT so fingers crossed she will be ok. Once she has her full mot then it's time for a lovely bath in wax oil.
Toledo Man
The Guru (Barry) is spot on. Adam is also right should you wish to source a replacement fuel pump. The EN4 engine was lifted straight out of the 2nd generation Civic. Hobby, the Civic 1300S also used the same carbs as the Acclaim.

Jacorosso
Had the fuel pump off today and its not the pump its the gaskets. Can anyone help me with a link or a site I can order these from as the oil leak is fairly major
Spider
Could make your own with something like this.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heavy-Duty-Oil-Water-Resistant-Gasket-Paper-165-x-165-x-0-8mm-Pack-of-2-/271055324965?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f1c280725Just search for "gasket paper" on Ebay, there are different thicknesses available. I have used cereal boxes before now, in an emergency, used with a little gasket cement it works very well.I tend to use this nowadays, recommended by someone on this forum.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Loctite-5910-Premium-Black-Silicone-80ml-Gasket-Maker-Sealant-1126633-/121090124681?pt=UK_Crafts_Cardmaking_Scrapbooking_Glue_Tape_EH&hash=item1c3188ab89Hope that is of some use to you.Spider. ferny
I second the gasket paper idea. You'll be surprised how often you end up using it!
Jacorosso
Nice one will give it a try. It looks like pervious owner had been there before making a right old mess. Thanks again for your help ;)
Jacorosso
After striping it down and taking all the bits off we have found the problem. It was a 5mm rubber gasket made by Volvo that had cracked and was letting the oil spew out. I have attached the eBay page if your interestedLook at this on eBay:463391, Spacer, Volvo Pentahttp://bit.ly/ZSRMX0

Jacorosso
Not sure but must have worked before it split. I've ordered a new one and gasket from Sweden so will let you know if it works
