Tim Bancroft
I am sure that many will not agree with me here, I'd go for a set of 195 tyres, no need to go to wide, these cars only weigh approx. 1150kg-no need for massive tyres. Handling will be progressive and wet weather ability will be fine.

Jason
Thanks guys - it will be a pure cost decision on tyres for the TR6 rims so cheap is good :-)

Englishbull
MK1'S dont suit stag alloys got be period, original hubcaps if pi or revolutions
2500 Stiffler
Ah, not bad - they look like Ginetta wheels.I've still got the anonymous 13 inchers that came with (but not on) my 2500S if anyone is interested...
DJB_Harvey
I agree with Tim...dont use 205 section tyres on a saloon 195 is the best all rounder any thing wider just tramlines too much...plenty of grip with 195 ..use 50 ,55 ,or 60 profile eg 195/60/15 is the equiv of the old 185 x 13 in terms of rolling diameter. My personal preference of wheels on a MK1 are Revolutions / cosmics / minilights in that order...NEVER Stag alloys or any other modern wheels.....YUK !!! Mine are 14 inchers nobbled from an MGB!Got a set of 4 spoke revs to go on but no nuts!
fogothdon
I always fancied wolfrace style alloys for my mk1, but nobody has mentioned them, so I presume they look rubbish..... Any pics anyone?Donald. :D

2500 Stiffler
I got a side profile shot of a Trumf and lifted pics of wheels from everywhere. I then grafted them together in "paint" and dismissed the ones that looked naff.Killed 5 minutes of boredom!
G-man
I can't quite tell what these are, but I love the look of dark wheels with polished rims;
Russell
They look like the American Racing Torque Thrust style wheels you get on Mustangs. Have to say, they look stunning on that MK1 and a nice alternative to Revolutions.Russell.

G-man
I think they might actually be four spoke 'Dragways', which were fairly popular in Oz on seventies muscle cars (the five spoke version, anyway)
Jason
Quite nice really, kinda suit the stateside car

2500 Stiffler
Those are the puppies I've got going spare in my garage - only they don't look in quite such good nick!I really must clean them up and then get them on the classified board so a Mk1 owner can make good use of them (no good on my 2500S)

Lord Sorbington
I think I'd be a bit worried about driving around on an old set of used alloys. My experiences of old cars with old alloys aren't good. Even if you can stop them leaking, they still corrode and look a mess. Probably an illogical fear, but as I say, I've been there!SAH, I like the wheels on your car, definately the best so far!
