Ha yeah even better it's double brown with that interior. I think the full length webasto is a nice touch as long as it doesn't leak. Any thing particular too look out for that is unobtainium these days

Mechanically there's nothing on there that's a big problem - it's all common to other (more popular) models.
Bodywork - most panels are a bit of a problem. Brown ones do seem to rust less, though.

most stuff available, but metal fronti panels are a fortune. Luckily the TDC have remade them in very good quality fibreglass.

Typical rot areas are wings/front panel above the headlights, otherwise anywhere you would expect.

Be prepared to haggle on the price, colour and time of year are against it, and it is (to me) strong money. Unless itr is very very good.....

Yep I agree it's strong dosh for a Tolly, had a word with the owner, seems like a nice bloke and it sounds like a good solid unmessed with car. He doesn't want to move much on price. Having owned tons of triumphs I have to admit I have never had a brown one. The BIG problem is that the missus has seen it and looks to have fallen in love with it ( and she is the most impatient woman on planet earth ). Suppose I should count myself lucky I'm with someone that shares my enthusiasm for triumphs. Ps this has all come about because I didn't insure her on the GT6 or TR doh !!

Ok I know this brown beast is priced at the top end of what a very BROWN 70's Leyland motor should be but even without my firmly placed Triumph hat on I can't help but think Dolomites and Toledos are under valued especially when you look at the prices of their GM/Ford rivals of the day, forgetting rally/race heritage.

With this car and having owned a vitesse with a webasto, also seeing so many GT6's with them fitted did triumph offer these sunroofs as an option from the factory or dealer? Or were they all fitted later by the owners, any one got a clue ?

Well went and picked it up today as you can see the missus is very happy with her new motor, Performed faultlessly during its 170 mile trip back to London. Popped to a mates house locally to show off the car and on the way home lost clutch pedal pressure. After a few quick pumps of the pedal pressure comes back again and all is well only to disappear again, Any suggestions !!! No leaks as master cylinder is full and there is a bill for a new slave this year. Cheap copy slave and seals sticking at back of cylinder perhaps ?

Picture now right way up, it looks very tidy (nice sewage pumping station in the background )

Definitely a master cylinder problem.  Either the internal seal to the reservoir is knackered or there is a bit of dirt in the same area.  If the latter it may sort itself, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I hope the woolly hat coat and scarf are not an indicator of heater efficiency!

PS my claims that the picture was the right way up were premature - it's one of the auto-invert breed.  Trying again starting with it upside down....

Ha yep the plate is a little dubious !!!!!. It's a lovely car solid as a rock. 1 lady owner  during its first 35 years with 79,000 on the clock and garaged most of its life. Looking through this little cars history the owner before last has bills between 2013-2015 for on less than 5 slaves and two master cylinders from either Rimmers or JP, what the heck ?. Going to investigate on the weekend, looks like its had recent new slave, master and pipe. In 2015 it had a new three piece clutch. The mystery continues ........

Does anyone know for sure the part numbers for a Toledo master and slave cylinder also part number/length of the master clutch fork that attaches to the pedal. Having investigated today I am led to believe there is one of these parts that's not the same as other 1300's in the triumph range perhaps causing my troubles, cheers

Try bleeding it, make sure the bleed valve is at the top. They are a pain in the bum to get right, and also slacken the clamp bolt, tap the slave in as far as it will go, then retighten the clamp.

Cheers dave, have tried bleeding it and you are quite right it is a pain in the rear as there is not much space to get a spanner in. Loosening the clamp and shoving the cylinder foreword was next on the to do list. Tried putting in a longer push rod from a spare vitesse master cylinder which was about 1/2 inch longer. It has made the car drivable but raised the height of the pedal. Seems as though there is nothing happening (no pressure) during the first third of pedal movement. To me it seems like it is not displacing enough fluid/ wrong master bore. Really annoying but I'm sure easy to fix, just need to put ny finger on it !!!!!!

Morning guys hope you all had a good Christmas, I certainly over did it with the mince pies and er rum this year 🙂. After having a nice few days off our toledo has got me busy again. Driving back from my folks house on Boxing Day there was a complete loss of front and rear indicator lights and after further inspection the rear brake lights are also out. Going to start poking around today, could it simply be a bulb out ? Any ideas where to look for a bad earth, flasher unit maybe?
As always any thoughts much appreciated.
