Round Britain Reliability Run

Recommended Posts

All,

I have just had a very good meeting with the MSA at Colnbrook about the title of our event and am chuffed to be able to state that with a few minor provisions, we can carry on using the term 'Round Britain Reliability Run'.

To say that I am pleased, is an understatement, chuffed to bits!

The RBRR organisational team is about to start on the 2016 event and are all thorughly looking forward to presenting to the membership of CT an event that offers fun, raises lots of money for the Charity and continues the history of what is an epic event!

Entry opens on 15/11/15ish. 50th Anniversary of the first one in 1966 and the 25th in the series: 1966, 1969, 1971, 1974, 1976-2016.
(Please note that a gap of three years was envisaged when it was decided to run the 2nd RBRR in 1969 following the success of the 1966 event. The 3rd RBRR was run in 1971 and it was thought that the next would be in 1973, however the fuel crisis of that year made the thought of running an event that asked Entrants to buy approximately 65 gallons of petrol morally and politically incorrect. Therefore it was decided that the event should be postponed until 1974).

The RBRR has been organised as a Touring Assembly since 2006, the certificate being issued by the MSA.

Great that we can continue to run the event with their continued permission and guidance.

We are in the process of finalising the rules and regs for the 2016, these to be sent to Club Torque Editor, Dale in the next few days for publication in the November issue of the magazine.
