Current forecast is heavy rain from the start all the way north to John O'Groats.

So, no change there then. :(

From the Met Office:

UK Outlook for Friday 1 Oct 2010 to Sunday 10 Oct 2010:
The unsettled outlook looks set to continue, with outbreaks of rain that may be heavy and prolonged at times, although with this there should be periods of brighter but showery weather. Strong winds are likely, particularly towards the northwest of the UK, with gales and perhaps even severe gales in exposed coastal and upland areas during the weekend. Into the new week, it should remain unsettled and autumnal with bands of rain separated by sunny spells and scattered showers. Further windy conditions are also likely, with the exposed western coasts of England and Wales joining Scotland in potentially seeing gales at times. Temperatures for the whole period should be near normal by day, with relatively mild conditions overnight leading to a lower risk of frost.

I've just had a look on the met office site and it reckons Saturdays not looking that bad.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Wet and windy on Friday, with a risk of gales in the west. Drier and brighter on Saturday with a few showers, then more wet and windy weather during Sunday.
