Nick Jones
You captured 4 separate lightning bolts on camera? :o Or are they pulled off a video? Was quite a storm that - we just got the hood up in time - about 30 seconds before the heavens burst open - was a well placed laybye that!Nick

ferny
70mph??? I slowed right down to about 40mph I think. At one point I could see sod all so went down to snail pace. Then we realised the window had misted up on the inside. :BSo so glad we had matching wheels on at that point! ;D
shedmonkey
I was dry as a bone my side but Homer forgot to seal up his side (grommets etc!) oh how I laughed at his wet arse! but I praised the gods of brand new Continental tryes and managed to maintain 60/70 mph in the spit

ferny
Can I just say right now, as I'm looking at the window at the dull light and trees being thrown about by the wind, how much I'm hating Mike's blog and all its photos.
mikeyb
hehe, sorry about that :)We managed to drive through the storm with the roof down throughout. We saw the clouds coming and not anticipiating how heavy it would be, stopped briefly to don coats and hats. When it hit us we we on a pretty empty strech of motorway so were able to maintain 30-40 mph (well pleased with the new tyres!). With the windblocker, most of the water went over the top but I did put a towel on my lap as some rain hit the sunvisors then dripping into the car.We thankfully missed the hailstones though!
