Here's the place to list who is taking what spares.

I'll have a set of spares for TR7s on a sale or return basis from S&S Preps which will also be of use to any Dolly 1850s and maybe a Stag too

I will have very few tools!

Right i found the notebook under the sofa where the  kids hid it. Been browsing the forum a lot to think about, seeing as the 2000 is an auto think i better take a spare starter , alternater and probally a water pump as well as a selection of hoses, points plugs bits and pieces etc. Plus toolbox and 20 litre spare petrol can (will that be enough)

Pete,

I'm taking the following:

Mk1 D'shaft
Rear wheel cylinder
Set of pads
Seal kit for brake m. cyl, clutch m. cyl and clutch slave cyl
Set of points, condensor, rotor arm, LT lead, Dizzy cap and one or two plug leads
Spare set of plugs- AJP could need them!
Top and bottom hose
Alternator
Set of bulbs
Various hose clips
Exhaust clamps
Steel wire
Split pins
1/2 inch heater hose
Olive for by pass pipe
Fluids:
Engine oil
3 in 1
brake fluid
Gear oil
Instant gasket muck
Various UNF nuts and bolts
Throttle cable
Cable ties
Small brake bleeding kit
Tools
Electrical test meter
Hazard Triangle
Battery powered inspection light
Car jack + Axle stands
Comprehensive lightweight tool kit
Camping kit + small stove+ sleeping bag + clothes

Ah, the joys of taking a big Saloon- no more attempting to squeeze everything into a GT6. The boot on my car is taken up by the spare as a 15'' wheel will not fit in the spare wheel well- if I do not get a third driver I will take out the rear seat- parts and tools in the boot, camping kit and clothes in the rear.

My goodness Chris - I know the boot in a TR7 is pretty big for a sportscar but thre won't be much space in yours :o

I'll be taking -

Plugs, points, condenser, rotor arm, distributor cap , accelerator cable, fan belt,  pressure cap, all radiator hoses, clutch master/slave cylinder repair kits, bulbs, brake shoes and pads.  Also water/antifreeze mix, Duckhams 20/50, brake fluid and various other second hand bits and pieces.  I will also be taking a selection of tools including a torque wrench.

I am going to try and take less than before as it's just extra weight that hopefully I won't need. I always have a dilemma tho - for example I have 3 sizes of ratchet sets with different combinations of extras. Also how many hammers do I take, a lump hammer, a ball pain, copper faced, all three or none at all?

Hi Martin

I know I have not quite got the kitchen sink in there, but it is less than we had for the RBRR04! But I can pack it all up neatlly and have space for a few GT6 spares if anyone needs the space!!

Master cylinder repair kits are a good idea, a Halfords Hose repair kit would mean you don't have to carry hoses, but we could arrange to carry complemetary 1/2 sets.  Pads and shoes! So we are doing the Col de Torini !!  I'll bring a rubber hammer, you bring something more substantial.

All,
I'm compiling a glossary of 'useful words' in French, German and Italian.
In French, the distributor is " le delco".
You knew that, of course, but it could explain a lot.

John

PS, later. And German for 'oil' is 'ol', mit umlaut on't 'o'.  Good thing we're not going to Scandanavia, 'cause there that's 'beer'!

Don't forget that in some countries it is the law to carry a spare set of bulbs and a warning triangle!

Just an idea guys & gals: Instead of everyone taking a separate tool kit, why don't you organise that each of you takes one vital tool? That way there'll be less stuff to lug around and you'll have more room in the boots!
