  3. that would explain the missing, no power, and a very very hot coil, i have ordered a new one from AccuSpark I will keep you all updated when it arrives  Lucas 3 Ohm Gold Classic Sports Ignition Coil DLB105 - £19.95
  4. Right guys, I have 12.5 ohms across the + & --   and 8560 ohms across the + and ht connection, this is all measured cold, then with the engine running  13.5v  across the + and the battery neg

Help please I ve just been out for a spin round the block about 20 miles and the car started to pop, bang & miss very badly, no power and didn't like ticking over, so I let it cool down and me calm down, 5-10 min started it up and drove off i only made 1-2 miles and it started again I just made it into  a lay-by, bonnet up the over flow bottle was full and over flowing a little, temp gauge working and showing normal temperature fan cutting in and out fine, so i thought has the dizzy moved timing out a bit nope ! all was tight, i grabbed hold of the coil and nearly lost the skin on my hand, so i let it calm down for 30 mins help arrived and followed me home and it started to pop and bang again my friend who was following me said it stank of petrol and black smoke , any idea's please

  9. I learnt that way Duncan at Classic Car LED's put me right, the alternator red bulb is the only non led on my GT6

    Hi try these  https://coh-baines.co.uk/product-category/classic-car/triumph/ they supply the best windscreen rubber for our cars, I haven't tried the door seals yet 
  12. could be why the cam wrecked it's self on my first engine,(less than 200 miles) haven't fitted it on this engine

I bought my sand blasting  medium from machine mart https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-coarse-grain-soda-blast-abrasive-7-5kg/ and cleaned out the green wheelie bin laid that on a couple of hop ups and shot the medium into that, ive done all my own apart from the body and chassis and i'm still using the same bucket of grit , the best tips i can give are DON'T chew gum and wear safety specs' I did bolt heads, brackets, every thing some bits had a wire brush first (the angle grinder type) washed in thinners dried and primed 
  15. And if we were in France, we would all join forces and protest ! blockade  our local shell / bp fuel stations, maybe block the M25 !! to get results, BUT NO we are British, we just suck it up and pay through the nose, merry christmas guys

  17. To get the pedestal to line up I cleaned the top of it and put a felt tip mark on and a mark on the engine block mating face, then when you drop the pedestal in if it's not right you know how far to rotate it, from the original position Rob good call on shimming it correctly 
  18. If funds allow I'd bin the Rimmer's pump and buy a Chris Whitor one, part number 217488RP, these have a much better build quality and are almost the same price, my new Rimmer's pump when I checked it was way out of tolerance in ever way possible when i purchased it  , this is on my GT6

Peter sorry for hi-jacking your thread, I see you can post photo's, since the web site upgrade I can't post photo's, so could you please help me out, I click on the "insert" then image,  the box opens and it tells me to put in "source" and "image list" what do I put in these boxes, I use an iMac pc, it's so frustrating not being able to stick up a photo, also I don't seem to be able to PM anybody either I really need help with this Ta 
  22. My GT6 MK3 is all leather inside, I cheated I got my local trimmer to do it for me , sorry can't post photos on this new site it's good to see a lot more guys on line tonight
