I keep stats on this for the club in order to try and help give guidance to entrants on events.

Not all of this is complete way back in time but this is what I have for RBRR non finishers

1998      1
2004      1
2006      3
2008      6
2010      9        7.8% of total starters
2012      8        8.4% of total starters

Regarding car types

2010 3 GT6 failed to finish of 9 entered so 33% failure rate
2012  4 Herald/Vitesses failed to finish of 10 entered so 40% failure rate

I have no record of an Acclaim ever failing to complete any event

I can recommend the (Phoenix?) single pipe system like what Mr Helm uses. We have never come close to removing it even when landing after getting a bit of air under the tyres.

Sounds good as well.. :-)

Cheers

Colin

Thanks, that's about what I have to go on the car, I say "about" because it's not quite complete having had a chunk cut off it at some point. The silencer's OK though. I just need a new link pipe I think. I haven't done any more than pull the stickers off the car since the run, must wash and polish sometime soon.

So will we have 100 acclaims at the start for 2014 ?

When I became Comp Sec a few uears ago one of my ideas was "Formula Acclaim" - buy some cheap Acclaims and see how far we could drive them in a weekend.

A prize of some sort for whoever came back with proof of how far they had got.

They were cheap and plentiful enough back then.

I have started another spreadsheet - sad git that I am!

This time completion/success rates.

Joining the Acclaim in first place with 100% success rate at the moment is the Stag :)

Not time to draw any conclusions - plenty more work to do yet ;)

Don't believe that Martin, I am sure I saw a Stag a few runs ago retired at John O'Groats with big end failure.................

I haven't finished with RBRR 2012 yet Alan ;D

5 Stags entered, 5 finished(clap)

Stop press - also on 100% but statistically even better

26 x 2000/2500 type entered, 25 finished(clap)(clap)(clap)

I may be a little biased but its a 100% for FF estates too  ;)

How about a banger racing competition for all surviving Acclaims, that'd get the population down, kind of ethenic cleansing in the Triumph World!

I think your source must be dubious then.

Dave2000 failed in (can't remember, might been 2004?) and retired his 2000 in Penzance due to propshaft failure.

I know a Stag retired some years ago in Scotland with a rattling bottom end.

I wonder where you are getting your details from, but I know there is some mistake there.............  ;)

See my earlier post ;)

OK - the results are in using the 2012 RBRR only.

Also for statistical reasons only quoting where there were more than 10 of the type entered.

2000/2500 26 entered 26 finished        100% success
TR2-6 12 entered 11 finished               92% success rate

I'll now go on to work on including the 2010 RBRR and then onto the 10CR stats for my life's work ;D
