    Aluminum rear wings

I use Lord adhesive (2 pack) at work for glueing aluminium together for the construction industry.  Give me a shout if you need a couple of tubes ;)

    Milky oil

could it be fuel in the oil?  I don't know if that would turn it milky or not and only mention it because you said the coolant level hadn't changed.
  5. it will drop out and back in again now you have fitted it once.  I had the same problem and used a trolly jack on the prop flange to push the diff into the rear hangers.  Diff is very easy to remove and replace now.

  7. Chris has a single exit pheonix centre exit (the best one to have) for sale.

  9. I wouldn't have thought the mounting points would be any different so I'm going to stick my neck out and say YES!

BUT, AVO will, at no extra cost if they are got from them alter the valving,so settings become softer at the bottom, but loose oot at the top I donrt think any yan has used either on a GT / Spitty, over 4, as it gets rock ard used ones can be altered too, but was told it would be 12£ +vat + postage basicly a rebuilt damper,or refurbished. the bush question is easily resolved, the same bush thats used in the spring eyes, the inner pivots at rear will fit. outer steel case, and inner steel bush. Cols on my line o tinking with the one sided coil owas. maybe some thing to consider ,!!! any thing with a rear radius arm thats short, will give rear steer. so maybe some thing else t consider. M M I know you have found a good solution for the bush problem but if buying new in the first place then i would spend my money with GAZ every day of the week :) :)

Someone here must have already done this and can steer me through the endless combinations. Keith I have dumped my AVO's for GAZ and find them far superior.  The dampening rates on the GAZ I find much more suitable to the GT6.  GAZ will make you a pair of height adjustable units to suit if you give them the open and closed dimensions and they are very reasonably priced which helps!!!!!  If you use AVO's be prepared to change the bushes every 1000miles!!!!!  GAZ use full width bushes.

CRAJ wrote: Could the o/d not be fitted between a shortened prop and the diff? Colin. The prop tunnel on a GT6 just wont be large enough to run an overdrive.  Not enough room in front of the diff either because of the chassis rails.

    2.5 crank

Great idea Colin and I could have the "fun" of an overdrive with a 5 speed!! I don't think the GT6 has enough room and the 5 speed gearbox doesn't have a drive flange on the rear it has a sliding spline :-/ :-/ :-/

I pulled one to bits years ago, and the thrusts were back to front. M I didn't build the bottom end but I know the original thrusts were used.  I should know more by Sunday next week.

Nick_Jones wrote: Hence the "want" in brackets  :P   I understand it's fairly nippy already  ;).  Given that you've got plenty of grunt, perhaps you just need taller 1st and second gears - they are available for the T9 and cheaper than billet cranks! Are your thrust washers definitely dead? Nick I'm starting the strip down tomorrow but when you put your foot on the clutch the front pulley moves away from the front cover by about 1mm so i'm assuming they are on the way out. I don't want to mess with the gearing because it's so well suited to my driving style.  Takes alot of folk by surprise I can tell you!!!  I would however like a taller 5th gear for more comfortable high speed cruising.  I think the engine would easily pull a 6 speed but haven't got the £5 grand to spend on one!! ??) ??) ??)

    2.5 crank

"If you need much more than 6k on your 2.5 one could argue that you've tuned it wrong" Who said anything about "need"?????  My setup goes very well indeed as some found out on the RBRR.  I just thought that if the engine has to come apart for new thrust washers then why not try and get more revs 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

    2.5 crank

So while looking on Chris Witors site yesterday for thrust washers and gaskets I found that he sells H-Beam con-rods and makes the claim that they will allow a 2.5 to rev to 7100rpm.  I spoke to Chris and he confirmed this but I was always under the impression that the 2.5 crank isn't strong enough to rev that high. Comments please :)
