heraldhabitat Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Well Reds and Whites are well in the lead equal first, Blues bringing up 3rd, Yellows not far behind a close 4th, in equal 5th way behind the rest Browns and Greys and way back in last position is Silver.
Tim Bancroft Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Blimey, I have tallied up the colours as well!!!
Ridgetone Triumph Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 So there is hope for Poo Brown then ;)
yogi Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Five Damson cars I see, or did you count those as reds? A nice spread of models too, my 1300, Herald convertible, Vitesse, GT6 and a Stag. They would look great lined up together at John O'Groats, though I realise that's not going to happen. It does seem that that the Damson owners are the only ones to put the specific colour rather than just red, blue or whatever. After all there's a big difference between Wedgewood, Valencia or Pageant blues. Damson owners all think alike?
rotoflex Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 It's a problem telling people what color it is.Triumph said Damson is not a red or blue car, but on its own as a "purple".At the same time, they said magenta is "red" and not a purple.Cops have asked me, "What color is this?" and I've said, "It's..." DON'T SAY DAMSON WE WANT TO GET OUT OF HERE "maroon. Or burgundy." When cops have written me up without asking, they've put down "purple". They probably knew the Triumph color ordering scheme and didn't have to ask.A lady at work was looking at it and said "Why do you have a brown car?" Looking straight at it. I told her the color is called Damson, it's sort of maroon or burgundy. She said "No it isn't, it's BROWN." So apparently there's a variety of colorblindness and pigheadedness that makes it register as brown. When I registered the car long ago, I put down Damson. They send a new copy every year when you renew, & looking at the current registration, it has under color "0 00". So apparently Damson blew up their computer one year. The color yields almost as much trouble as my right foot. So when asked by not-a-cop, I say it's Damson and let them figure out that's what Damson looks like. I won't worry about straightening out all these people for who knows how long any more.
Goody Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Here in the North East, the states do not care what color your car is. It is not noted anywhere on the title, registration card and police do not use it if they give you a ticket. You can change color of your car anytime without telling the state.
aar0sc Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I put my colour down as CAD I think, probably just to be annoying. There's a chance I'll be the only one in CAD though, Triumph only did Flamenco for half a year or so :PAa
CRAJ Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 I put the estate down as Carmine, but it still appeared as red.
DaveKent Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 the dvla rules for colours on the V5 clearly state you should notify them of the base colour, ie red, yellow, white, blue etc rather than use a manufacturer specific colour name such as "chocolate dream" or "martian skies" !!!!!!!! ;)
ferny Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Mine says white/blue. Does this mean it should be pale blue?
heraldhabitat Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 Nothing against silver, its just that there is only one :o Ok I can't amend my post so lets say and in a unique position is the silver car!
Tim Bancroft Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I will try and change the colours on the listing to something more specific!

RegBa Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 OMG....and Honeysuckle doesn't appear on the colour chart at all.,....so what should I put down for that???Honeysuckle is shown as "Yellow" on its V5 - and the Camine PI is shown as "Red" - which all seems fair enough......!
DGF Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 well as mine is two tone catus/conifer green does that count as 2 ?
Englishbull Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Damson IMO is one of Triumphs best colours..............looks good on a MK1 estate.

AlanChatterton Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 ....... never have I seen such back-pedaling so quickly Mr Radford!!
mikew Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 AlanChatterton wrote:....... never have I seen such back-pedaling so quickly Mr Radford!!Yes, amusing isn't it?How else can we wind him up ? ;) I only said I "could" take offence, not that I had! mike
AlanChatterton Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 after the day I've had....... not really in the mood to wind anyone up............. yup, it really was that bad!
Jason Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 I hate to upset anyone but I just lump all the colours I consider the same into "Red" or "Blue" or whatever no matter what you say it is - to be honest it's just so people can identify cars on the run - no one is really going to care much about the difference between yellows or greys etc. Also, when I first published this, Google docs only allowed so many conditional formats so my choices were limited :P
