Bridget Snook
Good news for the greedy. Back to Pimperne this year and back to homemade cakes. Also rumours last time that the local WI help in the kitchen are untrue - all the helpers are either members or members partners or friends. I doubt if Pimperne has a local WI. Tim Bancroft
The WI rumour, probably came from my observation that the cakes were of such a high standard that they seemed to have been made by the WI.I had hoped to tell all entrants at the DM that the cakes were back, oh well. Beans
Is there already a list with addresses (or coordinates) for the various checkpointsI will be abroad from next weekend till two days before the event,so should be nice to program the satnav and mark the maps before the event. Also will the road-book etc. be available online for those foreigners unable to attend the drivers briefing? Tim Bancroft
Theo,We will have a Tom Tom file available, plus we will sending via email a copy of the RB to all European entrants, this to be done after the Drivers Meeting at Gaydon. The route is more or less the same as 2012 though.Tim
Goody
Tim: Don't worry about my team, as the only American, Ferny has told me he will be at the meeting. Bill
yorkshire_spam
I think it's a bit of a shame that the list of checkpoints has been given without location information, so all the experienced teams now know where they are going, but us first timers won't be able to start looking at the route properly until after the drivers meeting. As a first timer I'd have liked as long as possible to prepare in advance. thescrapman
SamWhat do you want to know??Most of the checkpoint descriptions are fairly self explanatory, though not all it has to be said.Blythe Services on A1Carter Bar (on English/Scottish border)Edinburgh AirportSkiatch (on A9 somewhere!)JOGConon BridgeStirlingTebay Services (the nicer family run one)Gleddridd? You'll already have an idea of where you're going even if you're new and that's a huge advantage. The only extra info you'll find out from the road book is its near enough exact location (some require spotting a CT banner for the correct car park - Sugarloaf) and the times you'll be getting there if everything is going well. One thing I absolutely hate about the 10CR is not knowing anything until the exact last minute, the RBRR really has the edge on it there. Raider
Ferny - for me a great thing about the 10CR is not knowing the route in any detail beforehand. I would prefer "this is the start, these are the overnights and this is the finish". Maybe even no route just guidance to some great roads to be found in the countries you may visit. But then I am probably in a minority ;)
mikeyb
I'm with you Martin, the start the finish and a rough idea of the countries would do me. I remain amazed at all the fuss and bad feeling floating about at the onset of the previous :-/

That is no good for the people who have warrents out for their arrest from previous 10CR's.
mikeyb
hehe, suspect that could rule out most of Western Europe for more than a few then ;D
