Radders
Quoted from sparky_spit I've tried my best. I've emailed Michael Fish and he assures me it will be dry, warm and sunny. Michael Fish? Oh my Gawd! I'll bring me wet suit and flippers! 😀

Jonny-Jimbo
Even though my car expired a bit on RBRR, I still intend to do this event Mike, in case you'd heard rumblings of Stupid Jimbo cooking his car...Just need a new rad, new exhaust nuts and a new cooling fan... RobPearce
You've got a few weeks to fix it, should be no problem.Oh, if it's a solid-crank-mount metal fan you're after, I think I have one. If you prefer the later plastic or viscous one then I can't help.
Jonny-Jimbo
I have a viscous one I may refit for now until winter when I have a few months between events to strip the front of the car out and work out a proper cooling system set up. Dale
Quoted from Jonny-Jimbo Just need a new rad, new exhaust nuts and a new cooling fan... If you have exhausted yer nuts then you will need to cool someone's fan' and yes that's pretty 'rad'. See you there and hope you're not walking like you're riding an invisible horse! 😉
sparky_spit
I went out for recce a few days ago to check on a bit of road on the route I hadn't driven for a good few years. I don't think anyone else has too.It took a bit of finding as its entrance was about 5ft wide with undergrowth on both sides making it not much wider further down. Down a steep hill, through a shallow ford with a dead badger decomposing in it, and then up the other side with the mud hump in the middle of the road scraping the underside of my modern all the way.Unless everyone fancies a bit of rallycross, I think I'll have to reroute that bit? michael
Yes rallycross what a good idea have not done that for years, just the sort of route for proper rally carsregards michael
Ridgetone Triumph
Excellent idea Mike, lets do this stage for the more spirited amongst us. Michael and Pete 😀
Clive
Luckily my toledo is (a) worth 50p and (b) has pelnty of ground clearance. So I say go for it!

sparky_spit
Okay. Knowing that some entrant's cars are more pristine than others, I have an idea that will suit all, and disadvantage none.
Rutty
Quoted from sparky_spit Okay. Knowing that some entrant's cars are more pristine than others, I have an idea that will suit all, and disadvantage none. So I am guessing that we will have to do a long way round through a car wash then?
Jonny-Jimbo
I've fancied building one of the FWD / 4wd hybrids for a while... not sure if a few weeks is enough time to do that...
Jonny-Jimbo
I've got a new viscous fan clutch thingymajiggler on order now and the radiator went for recoring yesterday, so all being well, AJ and I should be on track to still take part in the event...Probably aught to order the relevant maps I guess. sparky_spit
That's good news Jon. The 168 map (Colchester. Halstead and Maldon) you used last year will be fine to use; you just need a 155 (Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury and Stowmarket) in addition.Dash4it are cheap and quick for OS maps. Jonny-Jimbo
The only issue is that from the 26th to the 1st Nov I'll be in Portugal... That may be cutting it fine for prep time!
Ridgetone Triumph
Quoted from sparky_spit ...........Knowing that some entrant's cars are more pristine than others......... Oh thanks Mike, never thought of 'Poo' as pristine 😀
sparky_spit
Quoted from Ridgetone Triumph Oh thanks Mike, never thought of 'Poo' as pristine 😀 That's alright Pete; I'm always happy to oblige mate.I reckon Tony Pulis's Stag is pristine. Clive reckons his Toledo is worth 50P. I'm not too sure where Poo is within that spectrum? Probably higher than it would be if you put it through Mark's hypothetical LWR car wash?Clive - do you fancy making a huge 100% profit on selling your car? I'll give you a quid for it?
