sparky_spit
Quoted from Velocita Rosso After receiving phone calls from PDJ and DAS who said they were needing `specialist equipment` to move my car ( a four castor wheeled dolly?)....as at yesterday.....I then received an email from the recovery garage in Austria ,to say it left them on Sunday 20th !Highly confused, insurers saying one thing and our Austrian friends saying something elseJust got this feeling its going to turn up on Monday, shouting "surprise surprise".......... Welcome to the wonderful world of European recovery to the UK. When we were recovered from Switzerland in 2011 we had similar mixed messages over whether it would be repaired in country or just brought back as is. Garage said one thing, AA in Lyon said another. I got the garage to agree it would be cheaper for me to fix it in UK and then I set up a 3-way conference call with them, the AA, and myself, to agree to this. It did the trick and stopped us all going round in circles. The car was back within 3 weeks.Hope it all works out for you okay.
CharlieD
The 2500S Estate of team 37 arrived back in Blighty 6.20am this morning safe and sound on the back of an arctic transporter - a week earlier than promised (he also said he was carrying a Spitfire & Hurricane - although I cant confirm as it was a covered trailer plus it was dark!) . Cant really fault the service from AA 5Star cover as long as you are realistic in your expectations / limitations of speed of getting stuff sorted. £114 for the one off trip cover was money very well spent in my case as they covered a hire car from Austria which we could take all the way back to Calais, taxi fares to the hire car depot, ferry crossing from Calais, plus a hire car from Calais back to Potters Bar. Ok so it took 9 hours from the moment we broke down to getting in the hire car but this was mainly due to the time we broke down (4.30am) and the distance from the garage we were left at to the nearest hire car depot (45mins). Clive
Could be yours! After my spit was "damaged" a few years ago it took ages of faffing about with insurance companies. The broker was brilliant. Then suddenly about a week before expected there was a knock at the door at 7pm. Bloke just said he had a car for me..... and there it was. I wouldn't be surprised if the movement was handed over to a 3rd party, and the insurance companies haven't a clue what is happening. chrisJA
Our car (2500TC) arrived home today after a bit of chasing of Hagerty. Unfortunately it appears the brakes have been crippled in the process and some bodywaork damage has appeared that wasn't there when we left it. At least its home!
