mikeyb
Today I feel like giving up!With a tight schedule I was up early this morning sourcing rad hoses and brake shoes. The hoses are in the post and shoes (out of stock) sourced locally.Having gone to fit the brake shoes the bloomin linings have been stuck onto the shoes the worng way around, so that the leading edge is where the trailing edge should be on each shoe. They are made by LPR, I suspect they are all the same in this brand!I have sourced another set made by EBC via ebay from a motor factor at Brightlingsea, about 40 mins away, however they were not stocked but he assured me they would arrive at the shop sometime tomorrow. On top of that I have just had a phonecall from the hotel booked for germany - they have a plumbing disaster and cannot guarantee a shower in time for our arrival!Arrgh!!!!! Beans
No real progress today :(When preparing for flushing the brake and clutch systems, I found that the level in the clutch master reservoir had dropped significantly since Saturday. So I could do nothing else than drive to local brake specialist and source new items as all my rebuilt kits have run out. This also meant I had to bleed the clutch system, which as ever turned out to be a real pain. But I have an almost functioning clutch at the moment, see what tomorrow brings ...At least we concluded that the rear axle should be OK for a little stroll through Europe ::)Oh and I have to pay a visit to the dentist for some emergency repairs to a tooth that broke very recently, hopefully won't take all of Wednesday. mikeyb
Well changed the oil, bought and fitted 4 new tyres and went for a test drive. O/S/R drum still getting hot, (same symptom). Strangely the handbrake does not seem to work too well on that side now.Back on the ramp after a cup of tea I thinkI'm baffled - different shoes and everything inside that drum had been removed, cleaned and lubricated :-(

32valves
I'd really like to have a set of Dolly Sprint rear brake shoes with me. Just in case. If you could pop in to Fitchetts for me that would be great, and there will be plenty of opportunity over the next few days for me to repay your kindness in beer ;)
