Batch Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 It’s with great sadness and shock that we have to announce that Nuala died suddenly on Tuesday at home in Borrowdale. Known to many of us through her participation in CT events in one of her spitfires. Retiring from hotel ownership last autumn we know she had many adventures planned for her retirement, not least getting all her cars on the road at the same time! To many, us included, she was more than a fellow car enthusiast she was a good friend, and she leaves a big hole. We will post details of her funeral arrangements when they are known. Dave and Jackie Batchelor Quote
yorkshire_spam Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Oh what tragic and shocking news. Such a sad loss. Quote
Tim Hunt Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Indeed shocking news Dave. Nuala was always such an infectiously enthusiastic participant in Club activities. You may have noticed that on Monday she posted on the Forum in connection with filming next month in Enfield for an episode of a planned TV series which was to have featured work on her rally spitfire, alas now never to be. Hopefully she will get the chance to met her hero John Gretener, along with many other rally legends gone to that special stage in the sky. RIP Nuala 1 Quote
Wendy Dawes Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 What a shock to all who knew her such sad news she will be missed Quote
2.5Chris at Stroud Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 We shall miss her enthusiasm and her friendship: a great character and a very sad loss. Quote
richard w Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Shocking news Dave. She was on good form on the C2C last month as always. I was looking forward to seeing her again on the Border Raiders next week and 10CR in September. Attached is a photo Enzo took of her lovely mk2 Spitfire taken on the C2C 6 Quote
Clive Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 I am shocked and saddened by this news. Met Nuala a few times on events, always enthusiatic, happy and smiling. A great loss to the world of Triumphs. Quote
Chriss Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 I am speechless, during the Coast 2 Coast I had several long conversations with her and she was telling me about her classic rallying plans and asking if she could help with the C2C. Although she was tired and had a snooze after the event, like many of us, she seemed so active and up for it. I am very sad to hear this news. 1 Quote
JohnD Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Gosh, what an unhappy surprise! The last I saw Nuala, late last year, she seemed in good health and spirits. A great loss to Triumph! John Quote
PeteStupps Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 What the flip? Genuinely shocked by this. Hard to know what to say Quote
Velocita Rosso Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 The phone went early this morning giving the sad news, which knocked me back somewhat Was sorting out a part she wanted me to take to the Border Raiders, which will sadly never be used Quote
mole42 Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 I will miss my friend Nuala. After successfully co-driving the C2C we were preparing to storm the 10CR in the project car..... Here is Nuala on form on the 2021 Tour of Cheshire with me in the navigators seat: 7 Quote
Rubce Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 What sad news. She was in fine form whilst we were having an evening meal in Porthmadog, the night before the Coast to Coast. After that event she was off to France for the Le Man's Classic. Quote
McJim Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Such sad news. Katy and I were looking forward to catching up with Nuala on the Border Raiders after spending a good while with her at the start of last year's RBRR. Always up for a giggle and a laugh like when a fluorescent yellow pen burst in her hand at the Novotel car park in Richard's Stag. The look on her face was priceless. Let us know when the funeral is and Katy and I will be there. Jim. 2 Quote

Howard Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 I helped her find a replacement co-driver for the c2c so it's a total shock. A lovely lady who will be much missed. Howard 1 Quote
RobPearce Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Oh, that is sad! My brother and I enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon chatting with her at Porthmadog before the C2C start. A sad loss to the community. 1 Quote

Ben Hutchings Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Goodness. Very sad. I didn't know her, only saw what she achieved and watched her progress with occasional reports from her various co-drivers during events. What an intrepid and interesting person she seemed to be 😞 Quote

Sidescreen Ben Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 What a dreadful shock. Very sad. We met Nuala on the RBRR2018 we tried to keep up with the yellow peril but failed mostly….except when the co-pilot was driving!! Nuala was certainly a great advocate of long distance events and a great loss to the Triumph world. Our condolences to her family and friends. Ben & Vicky 1 Quote
Hogie Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 We do the most scary things, rush here and there not realising how delicate our existence is on this planet. Gone in a flash. I never met Nuala but read post of her posts and she came over bubbling with enthusiasm. Rest in Peace Nuala. Roger Quote

Ben & Vicky Ben, do you mean Vicky could keep up or either of you could if Nuala's co-driver was at the wheel? Tim Quote
